[Waking up to be a normal person is Ian's dream, at this point. So when he wakes up and finds himself... normal? And shivering him cold, in the forest? He has a moment where he thinks it's a dream-and then he remembers, oh. This is Luceti.

... FUCK YES. THANK YOU!! THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU.

First thing's first. He is going to the restaurant and ( Read more... )

[Such enthusiasm! Said bartender lifts a brow, a cheeky grin crossing his lips.]

Ten rounds of what? We've got a big selection now, you know!

O-oh. Right.

Hummmm...

Get me something that doesn't taste bad! Yanno how some are super gross. Just something sweet, or whatever there is like that!

Something sweet, huh. [...Man. Guy would be so much better at this. Zack gives it a moment's thought, then tugs out a glass, pouring in some vodka, green liquor, and topping it off with iced orange juice, creating a layered drink. He slides it over.] I like this one- it's called a Melonball.

Melonball, huh?

[He drinks it, and then smacks his lips before a grin crosses his features.]

I like it! Though it doesn't beat plain ol' water!

It's a pretty new experience; how long is this 'experiment' gonna last, you think?

[Zack lifts a brow at that; so this guy's affected? Kind of makes him wonder what he normally looks like, in that case.] Going by my experience and what I've heard? Probably around a week. That seems like the normal amount of time for some reason.

Awww, just a week? That stinks.

Whelp, I'll just have to enjoy myself crazy for one week! Can't look a gift horse in the mouth, right?

I like your attitude! Just don't drink yourself too silly. It'd be no fun to end the night face-down in the bathroom.

Ewww, you got a good point there. There's always that random guy face-down in the bathrooms at all the village bars, back home. How do you know when you shouldn't drink anymore?

Heh... to be honest, you're asking the wrong guy. I've never been drunk in my life. I guess just drink enough water between the alcohol? I've seen people do that and drink all night long. But if you're new to it, don't push yourself too hard on the first day.

You never drink? Well, I guess that makes sense. My mom used to tell me it wasn't exactly the best thing for people to drink-but most of the guys in the village did it, anyway...

[He grows silent, at that, a thoughtful look crossing his face.

Those people are all dead, by now.]

I've always wanted to try it out, just once.

Not so much that I don't drink, but I can't get drunk. [A small shrug.] Anyway, it's good to try new things when you can! And drinking is the kind of experience that makes people adults, even if just so they get to see how much of a kid they are after too much of it.

... You can't get drunk?

[Sorry, he has to key in on that.]

Nope, afraid not! I have something called mako in me- it's a chemical that protects my body from illnesses and stuff. It breaks down the alcohol too fast for it to have much effect on me.

... Wooow... is that sort of thing real common in your world?

Not exactly common... but most people know about it. It's only a special part of the military that gets mako treatments- we're called SOLDIER.

Oh, I got it. Was your world a tough place to live? I've never heard of soldiers that had to have something like that before...
