A changing week

The first change was the loss of little Desi - de ratta. On Wednesday morning I had been sitting up late - 3am - catching up with programmes on BBC 7 before I went to bed, only to find Desi lying very still in the corner of the cage.  He was so cold that I thought he was dead but when I picked him up, he kicked and blinked his eyes.  I tried ( Read more... )

Thank you, Sweetheart.

Yeah, free hair cuts should be an enticement. But would you believe that, as a young teenager with long hair for the first time, I actually turned down the opportunity to have my hair cut by Vidal Sassoon himself? He was just starting to becme famous and my father had him in to do a demonstration for the staff. (My father owned the biggest salon in Cardiff.) Like an idiot I decided to hang on to the long locks wich grow qickly, anyway. *shakes head in disbelief*

I usually go a salon co-owned by a guy who did his apprenticeship with my father - his other half is an excellent cutter. Their prices aren't extravagent but, being as broke as I am at the moment, I took advantage of an appointment a friend who was staying with me for a few weeks made, at a salon in the village. (Please excuse awful syntax - I'm not awake yet.) She subsequently couldn't make it so I went instead.

The highlights will cost me what Alan charges for a cut so, as nice as it would be to see them both, I'm afraid that finance wins out over old friendship.

And besides, my printer is playing silly buggers again and I daren't go to them without some smutty slash printed out for them. Last time I presented them with my own Spes story "The Cloaca Conundrum" so god knows what they made of that *G*!
