(no subject)
Just started my new job at the Holiday Inn this past week, which is pretty spectacular. I've been training mostly on mornings and afternoons, fully aware that I will soon be learning the night audit. Well I come in w/Sarah on Tuesday for our 2-10 shift, only to discover we'll be working overnight on Wednesday. Joy. The only solution to the sleep/work dilemma seemed to pull an all-nighter, then sleep the whole next day before work. This, my friends, is the story of our adventure.
First, we had to decide what to do to pass the time. We discussed seeing a movie, but realized it was midnight on a tuesday; no such luck. We then contimplated the casino, but by the time we got together the motivation to go, it was about 2 am. That's a long drive.
At that point we decided on The Lion's Den. What could be more fun for an all-nighter than RedBull and a 24-hour sex shop? Half tempted to buy a blow-up sheep, btw. Just for the sake of saying "Yeah, I have a blow-up sheep with action activated sounds, what's it to you?". It would have been way more fun if the woman would have believed that we were lesbians. We tried, haha.
At that point, we were hungry children, and went out in search of Denny's. An hour and a half later, through the fog and smudged glasses, we finally come across the glowing sign announcing the presence of yummy breakfast foods. Despite the world's ditziest waitress, who felt the need to share every personal, uncomfortable detail of her life, we had a great time. That's it from me, I'm going to go collapse back in bed before doing it all over again :)
