A/N:  Well here's part 6 you guys.  I'm not sure how much longer it will be but I'm gonna be lame and use a math equation to estimate it.
If x= # of chapters left:  2< x < 6.   lol pretty sure that's how it's gonna work.  Anyway.  Enjoy! :)
PS: Sorry guys, I'm in a Spring Awakening mood.

Cameron blew a stray strand of hair out of her face as she looked over the first, of many, charts for the day. A full week had passed since that night at Remy's, and they hadn't spoken much since. Not for Remy's lack of trying, but Cameron found herself always having to be somewhere else, doing something different. She couldn't understand what was going on inside of her, it was too complicated. But the more she thought about it, the more she realized that it was only complicated because she made it that way. It was simple really, if only her mind would let her be what her body was screaming at her to be. It was new and terrifying ground she was treading on. Hence, the avoidance of a certain brunette.

Her brow furrowed in concentration, trying to ignore the sounds of the nurses as they bustled around her, standing at the nurse's station. She heard the elevator doors open but didn't glance up until she heard the familiar limping gait of House. He, followed by Kutner and Taub, made his way towards where the Huntington trials were being conducted. Cameron's brows furrowed even further. She closed the chart she was working on and followed after them. They entered the room where, Cameron knew for a fact, Foreman was doing private testing with Remy. She sped up, entering the room behind them.

“Cliffnotes: Gastric bypass only makes her skinny on the outside. On the inside we've got heart and lung issues, not caused by heart and lung issues.” House said, forgoing any sort of greeting or apology for interrupting. Cameron opened her mouth to protest but Foreman beat her to it.

“Private Area, House,” he said, not bothering to hide his irritation, “it can wait.”

“You need to consider side effects from her gastric bypass surgery,” Remy said, jumping into the differential.

“Forget the bypass.” Kutner said smugly.

“Let the dying girl finish.” House said, throwing a look at Kutner.

“You said forget the by-”

“Tsh,” House hissed, halting Kutner in his tracks. He motioned to Remy,“Dr. Thirteen has the floor.”

“Bypass could create malabsorption issues, leads to low potassium.” Remy replied. House would've rolled his eyes, were he not...well, House.

“Very stupid, her potassium's fine.” He said.

“But her intestines aren't,” Kutner interjected, “Gastric bypass could cause malabsorption by creating a blind loop of bowel. It ulcerates during exercise, bacteria get loose in the blood stream, migrate to the heart and lungs.” He glanced back and forth from his colleagues to House, who turned to Thirteen.

“Very not stupid.” He turned back to Kutner and Taub. “Bacteria in the bowels means bacteria in the poop. Get some and test it.” Kutner and Taub left to collect the sample, passing by Cameron as they exited.

“You could have come up with sebo anywhere in the hospital. You didn't have to come down here and screw with us.” Foreman said, showing his blatant annoyance.

“But her wrong idea led to his right one.” House said, turning to leave.“It was vital screwing.”

“No, it wasn't,” Cameron said, speaking up for the first time. Remy jumped slightly hearing her voice. “He's right,” Cameron continued, “you have absolutely no right coming in here and interrupting Rem...Dr. Hadley's trial.” House arched an eyebrow at her but remained silent.

“Cam,” Remy said, trying to gain the other doctor's attention, “it's ok, really. I needed the break.” She said, smiling slightly.

“I just asked you if you wanted to take five.” Foreman stated. Cameron saw Remy roll her eyes slightly.

“Well, I really just want to get this over with.” She said, turning to regard Foreman exasperatedly.

“Why are you here?” House asked, having never taken his eyes off Cameron. The blonde faltered and House seized his opportunity. “You've already saved her life you know, you don't have to keep rescuing her.” He said mockingly.

“I'm not trying to rescue her.” Cameron said, but even to her ears it sounded empty and false.

“Cam,” Thirteen said again, “seriously, it's ok. Don't worry so much.” She flashed a smile at the blonde doctor, which House noticed, a wicked grin spread across his face.

“You like Cameron.” He stated, staring Remy down.

“What? I don't-I mean, why would you-” The brunette stammered.

“You like her, like her.” House continued, his grin growing by the second.

“I don't like her, like her,” Remy said, finally regaining her speech, “I just like her. She's a very likable person.” She heard the door close and turned to see that Cameron had gone. House also noticed the blonde's exit.

“Finish up, I need 31's dual perspective.” He said to Foreman before moving as quickly as he could after Cameron. He called after her before she could make it back to the ER. “I was wrong!”

She stopped in her tracks and turned slowly. “Who are you and what have you done with House?” She asked, her sarcasm biting. House waited until he had caught up with her to respond.

“It's the other way around. You like Thirteen.”

Cameron rolled her eyes and turned continuing towards the ER. “You can taunt me all you want House, but I'm not going to play your little mind games.”

House limped up beside her, “I'm not taunting, taunting you. I'm just taunting you.” He said, with mock sincerity. “You're a very taunt-able person.”

“Drop it House.” Cameron said, finally entering the ER. She hurried over to the nurse's station and picked up her pile of charts before heading into an open exam room and shutting the door. House stood there for a few minutes, smirking.

“Better than Skinamax.” He said to himself, before making his way to the elevator.

Remy watched as House went after Cameron, then turned to Foreman.

“Are we done here?” She asked.

“Uh, no.” Foreman said, matter-of-factly. Remy narrowed her eyes and lowered her voice to a near growl.

“We're done here.” She said, before standing up and following after House and Cameron. She took off, practically jogging down the hallway. She paused though, hearing House's voice around the corner.

“You like Thirteen.”

Remy waited for Cameron to deny it, just as she had but was surprised when she heard Cameron say, “you can taunt me all you want House, but I'm not going to play your little mind games.”

Remy felt her chest tighten anxiously. She listened for more but just caught Cameron telling House to 'drop it' before the two entered the ER.

'There's no way,' Remy thought to herself, 'no way Cameron could be feeling the same thing she was.'

She stood there lost in thought until she noticed a familiar presence standing in front of her. She shook her head to clear it and arched an eyebrow questioningly at Foreman.

“Look, I can only let you get away with things like that for so long.” He started, “if it becomes a problem, I'm gonna have to kick you out of the trial.”

Remy had to bite her tongue to keep herself from telling Foreman to screw off. Instead, she simply nodded and waited for him to go on his way. She followed after him, making sure that he was far enough ahead of her that she wouldn't have to take the elevator with him. She entered the ER to see a confused looking Chase, a smug look House and Cameron who looked like she was on the verge of tears. She hurried over to the group.

“Cam, what's going on?”

House tapped his cane impatiently as he waited for the elevator to arrive. When the doors opened Chase nearly ran into him as he exited.

“Sorry,” he said, “have you seen Cameron?”

House smirked and used his cane to motion to the door Cameron had just shut.

“Thanks.” Chase said, heading towards the door. He stopped short when House started to follow him. “Weren't you waiting for the elevator?” He asked.

“I can TiVo it.” House responded, confusing Chase even more. Chase just shook his head, bewilderedly and went to knock on the door.

On the other side Cameron was still upset.

Upset with House for being...well House.

Upset with herself for still letting House get to her after all these years.

But mostly, upset because Remy had said that she didn't like, like her.

The last reason confused her most of all because she knew how childish it sounded, but still, it meant so much to her. That combined with all the feelings she'd been having around the younger doctor was very nearly too much for her to process. When she heard the knock on the door, she snapped, assuming it was an unrelenting House. She swung the door open, “fine! I like her! You win!” She snapped.

Her eyes widened when she realized it was not in fact House, but Chase standing in front of her. Albeit House was just a few feet behind him. Chase looked from her to House, confusion written all over his face.

“Like...who?” He said slowly, although he had a pretty good idea of who 'her' was.

Cameron brought a hand to her face, her eyes stinging with tears. Everything, everything that was happening, everything she was feeling, was just too much. And if she hadn't already been on the verge of a breakdown, she definitely would be now as she saw Remy approach from the corner of her eye.

“Cam, what's going on?” She said, worry etching her beautiful, 'yes, beautiful' Cameron relented to herself, features. “Are you ok?” The brunette doctor questioned.

Cameron couldn't even form a sentence, she simply turned away from all three of them and ran out of the Emergency Room.

Remy hazarded a glance at Chase and House before taking off after her. Chase simply stood there, silently fuming. He knew now, without a shadow of a doubt, that any chance he'd had with Cameron was gone. He rounded on House and, for no other reason than he was incredibly pissed off, he kicked his cane out from under him before stalking towards the elevators. House stumbled slightly and caught himself against the nurses station.

“You're gonna miss the dramatic girl-on-girl conclusion!” He yelled over his shoulder.

“Cameron? Cameron!” Remy yelled, following the blonde outside into the parking lot. Cameron had practically sprinted to her car, only to realize that she didn't have her keys with her. She leaned her head against the door and groaned. She heard Remy's footsteps approaching but didn't turn around.

“Cameron?” Remy asked tentatively, “what's going on?”

“I don't know,” Cameron whispered, still short of breath.

“What?” Remy asked, stepping a little closer.

“I don't know!” Cameron yelled, rounding on the brunette. Her eyes were burning uncontrollably with unshed tears. Remy backed up a bit, holding up her hands in a peaceful gesture. “I'm sorry,” Cameron said, tears starting to make tracks down her face. “I just...I don't know what this is.”

“What...what is?” Remy asked softly.

“I don't know!” Cameron burst out again, “this, this feeling I have.”

Remy was treading on thin ice and she knew it but she couldn't help but continue to prod Cameron.

“What feeling?”

“I...” Cameron started, “god, how could you not know?” She said, wiping some tears away. She met Remy's eyes reluctantly.

“I'm falling in love with you.”
