177 Gmail, 91 Hotmail. Frazzled. This 'moving' business is hard work. Nice place though, Dad's too. Can't believe I go back to school on Monday. Today I got a sexy new carpet and a sexier new internet connection. Hence updating. So this is really a new chapter in my family life then. I'm at Dad's every other weekend, plus every Monday and Tuesday after school. Hillsborough (the area of Mum's house) is odd to live in.
Firstly, there are actually young people living here! Marketing firms used in general elections for targeted campaigning use various hip New Labour-sounding catchphrases to describe the demographic of an area. The old house was situated in "Twighlight Sustinence" - where old middle-class people go to see out their days, basically. This place also isn't as suburban. There are noises other than birds, and weirdly the air feels warmer. Also odd is being in the valley for a change, instead of up on the hill. I'm sure that a cross section of Sheffield would look like this: /\/\/\ I'm right on the doorstep of plenty of great shops, and public transport is fucking excellent here.
The biggest downside is not being near the majority of my friends. They never came round often before anyway, but I still saw them more than I probably will here.
