(no subject)
For my American Culture class I'm using my history book from high school to talk about American history and the Civil war and stuff. I really never thought I'd read this book again. I mean why would I. I wrote notes in the margins from sister Margrets class and its funny to reread them. Wish I would have written down more of her weird funny quotes.
I had the film club on Thursday and showed my students Bend it like Beckem. I mean I thought I couldn't find a less subversive fun movie, but no their was much laughter when they were wearing sports bras and forgot about the changing scenes. And of course much laughter during the one kissing scene. There was one guy (my students are mostly girls) and he was so embarassed he left. Kinda funny.
Lets seee what else. There was a festival on Monday. When I say festival here I mean a singing competition. I never know whats going on here on campus. Its like I randomly have to ask if theres any events I should know about or something maybe even more specific. They showed me the small sign near the phone for the festival with the wrong dates of course. Anyway the singing compition was with pop songs and Malay songs. My students were all dressed up in special outfits which was pretty cool though.
I think I forgot to mention how I saw a moniter Lizard on the way home the other day. I took a new way home and there was a huge like 3 foot long lizard just kinda crossing the road. It was weird.
