animals and living things of that nature

Richard's Mr. Snake was lost for a month and a half. Then the hamster was lost. Next day we found the hamster, couple hours later the snake was found slithering into the bathroom. So we're feeding the remaining mice to him, except that one mouse was hopped up on basil and escaped several times from his clutches and suddenly the snake is shying away from his food. We don't quite know what to make of it. I wonder if he had gotten scratched while the mouse was fighting for its life and now decided to wait until it was absolutely necessary to feed.

In other news, I am a crazy freakin plant lady nowadays. It started the day before I became ridiculously sick. Richard and I went out to a plant sale at Fred Meyer, where I ran into Sam and Taylor, and we all bought flowers, strawberries, planters, etc. The master gardeners were on hand to pot them all. Since then I've brought over some of my mom's more neglected plants to see if I can nurse them back to health. Richard has constructed a window planter for some of the smaller plants. Today I've made a few re-pots and hope to be successful in it. It seems like mom's had a black thumb, but then recently I've found she just likes the easier-to-manage houseplants, like the Christmas cacti.

I love my spider plant already, and my burro's tail is fascinating! I've made a cutting on my mom's much larger parent plant and hope they'll root. I want to prove to myself that I can take care of a growing, fragile life. It seems very grown up. More so than a chubby hamster and feeder mice. ;P

I'm also on Twitter! Twitter.com/anemily I'm primarily talking about plants and situational observations. I can't believe what an old lady I've become, lol.
