Merlin S2 Commentaries...*le sigh*
There's this great rush of false accomplishment that comes from downloading the commentaries from the latest S2 dvd release...I mean really all I did was stumble on it and press the button and wait. But the waiting was HARD. 2.08 took 14 minutes, while 2.10 (which I was DYING to listen to) took over an HOUR.
Obviously the Internet is a cruel and wonderful place.
And now I've listened to both and laughed (Anthony, Bradley and Colin are a FANTASTIC combination) and lamented (Angel could barely get a word in and Bradley couldn't say enough about the fighting - all over the A/G moments, which alright I get it, it's weird watching a dvd of you kissing or looking adoringly at your mate and commenting on it with two other people......BUT BRADLEY come on. You can talk fighting on any of the other eps. This one's supposed to be special.
I wish it had been Colin and Katie with them.
That would have been EPIC.
KATIE would have pointed out the romantic aspects.
KATIE would have Aawwwed.
(You can probably tell I'm on a little bit of a Katie high - left over from finding out she's asking all the right questions about the sometimes questionable writing of the Merlin team. Talking Dragon.)
I think my fav part of 2.10 was this: (also Thank god for Alice, without her no one would have been talking about A/G)
(Bradley and Julian discussing how funny Arthur bouncing on his bed is)
Alice: You done any bed bouncing Angel?
Angel: No, not reeeeeeallly.
Alice: Why hasn't Angel done any bed bouncing then Julian?
Bradley: (decides to field this question) Coz her bed would collapse if she did it.
Angel: Shut up.
Julian: Coz it's a seven o'clock family show.
Alice: Okay.
Bradley: (backpedalling) Well, No. Coz it's not - not coz (Angel chuckles) you're big and ...Oh GO-
(Alice and Angel laugh)
Alice: (sharply) What! Bradley that was...
(Bradley laughs)
Angel: [says something indistinguishable] Shhh...
Bradley: (still trying to save himself) Coz, the bed's not - it's ALL- (starts laughing again)
Angel: Yeah, yeah. Whatever.
(Bradley chuckles in a strange higher pitch)
[Pause]
Bradley: (normal voice) I think I managed to get away with that one.
Angel: Yeah.
Julian: Just.
And obviously (or not so obviously) my fav part of 2.08 is the mention of Gwen and her hay cart and just the epic ridiculousness of it...(.which I'm too tired to find and type)...as well as Bradley talking about that THING that girls DO....that THING that THEY tell him THEY DO....and Colin and Anthony being all "Riiiiight..."
And I need to download eleven still....coz eleven is so forgettable that I left it til last and I just don't have the energy to listen properly while Katie tells, whoever the producer sitting in is, what's what and how STUPID it is that Morgana's treated like the most evil thing EVAH (and completely without redemption) when she hasn't DONE ANYTHING and how Gaius and Merlin left her to the wolves.
