Every night is the same: nasty men staring at her with lustful eyes, caressing her almost naked body with greasy hands, dollars being given to her with the promise of a kiss or even something more.
The only thing that’s constant in her mind is the music, repetitive and emotionless, keeping her away from the corruption of her audience.
Someday I won’t need this - she still dreams of diamonds and fame, of enjoying life without looking back at the horrible past.
The essence of a cigarette gets caught in her lungs; some coins are deposited in one of her hands.
“Why?” - he asks, deception within his dark eyes.
