Today was a pretty exciting day. I went and met with my advisor. She showed me where I'd be working in her lab, and told me what project I'd be on. I'll be working with morning glories, because they put off a natural herbicide. We will be trying to determine what the herbicide affects. The research will be done in conjunction with a university in Mexico. There is a possibility that I will get to go down there for a week or so, and observe what they are doing.

I also started my running program today. Today was 1 mile and lifting weights. Tomorrow is just 1 mile. The mileage increases once a week, until on this program you reach a 5K. After that, I will start the program that gets you to a 1/2 marathon. The race isn't until October, but there are several 5K's I'd like to run before then.

I had an amazing birthday. It lasted a whole weekend. Thanks to hillarygayle for her funny lie about Matthew Fox. I'm not quite sure what I would do if he actually did come to Jonesboro just for me. Ben took me to Memphis, and we went Christmas shopping and saw The Holiday. It was a very good movie. Then, on Saturday night, we ate at Fuji and looked at Christmas lights. On a trip to Starbucks, we ran into Danyelle and her husband, and Gwen. She is the most beautiful baby, and she just kept talking. It was adorable. Anyhow, now I'm off to watch T.V. and procrastinate cleaning my apartment a little more!
