Life's too short for this shit.
That's more or less my life philosophy. Crappy weeks do end on Fridays (which coincidentally often causes cheap beer to be available at your neighbourhood bar -- go figure!). Mondays are over at 12:00 AM Tuesday, and here every class at twenty minutes past the hour. In ten years, no one will care if you got a 58% on your calculus exam (unless you want to go to med school), or that you mailed your Mother's Day card to your grandma and your grandma's card to your mother. Sure, some things stick around forever, like that tattoo you got in Cabo on spring break because let's face it, you were hammered, and tattooing the "I AM CANADIAN" symbol on your butt is like, a rite of passage for college, eh?
Is it disturbing to base everything on the "Quit worrying. No one gets out of this life alive." philosophy? Yeah, probably. It means I make some flat-out bad calls sometimes, and some dubious ones most of the rest of the chances I get. But since I'm still here and so is everyone else, it seems like a semi-decent outlook.
Anyone else? I'm always curious about these sorts of mini-life questions.
(PS--Option two was "Geeks WILL eventually become your boss." A little passive-aggressive Bill Gates, anyone?)
