gift wrap

When I was a kid one of my favorite parts of this season was the gift wrapping. All those colors to play with! All those crisp, clean lines of paper folded just so and then held by tape that, when you ran your thumbnail along it the right way, was nearly invisible. I'm still having trouble comprehending that christmas is 8 days away even though mall is starting to resemble the 9th circle of hell. Guess it's the general lack of snow/cold though it is starting to get into the 30s now :-\ The presents I have a wrapped and only a few gifts need to be picked up. I guess I'm just missing the whole christmas spirit this year. I don't even really want to hear christmas carols. Sorry to put a dark cloud over your happy X-mas post :(

LOL, what a difference christmas makes from your own childhood to with your own children.

It sounds like you guys are having a blast out there. My shopping's been done for weeks, but I haven't yet had the time to wrap anything. I'm surprised Matthew hasn't found his gifts yet. He's got a nose for toys. I'm just saying.

I love the gift-wrap part because it's part of the bigger "secrets and surprises" part of Christmas.

And it's best of all with little kids!
