thank yous and random updates
Thank you all so much for the encouraging comments for Trooper and I! We are both doing very, very well (full energy, just a little sore). I think we have the majority of the surgeries out of the way. Whether or not Beloved needs one remains to be seen. They are trying some alternatives first.
In other news, TelannaTani had her baby on Thursday. Right on time and beautifully, marvelously healthy. I saw pics! :)
OH! And I missed some birthdays, it would seem. Happy Birthday, Layren!!!
Updates for my ife? I guess the biggest thing is that Little Man started school today. I can't believe he is already in first grade! Where did all those years go? He looked so handsome out there waiting for the bus (first time I let him ride it), so eager. I think this is much harder on me than on him, actually! :) I know he will do well, but it is a great joy to watch him grow in so much grace.
Speaking of which - He came to me last week and asked if he could be baptized. I hesitated and asked why he wanted to be baptized and he was able to answer every question I had for him. I was very impressed. I even told him that he couldn't be a Christian just cause Mommy was, it was something he had to do because he decided that Jesus was worth following and being like. He still wants to do it.
I was floored. I mean, I *try* to live my faith and I know that he watches, but it is easy to forget (esp at home when things are going crazy stressful) that kids pay THAT much attention. Kind of scary, actually. Also another memory to store away. *tries not to cry like a hormonal something or the other*
Hm, let's see... what else? Things on the poetry front are so/so. I'm writing, I'm just not writing well. That is actually a step ahead of the fanfiction front, where I am not writing at all. In my defense, I do have an outline for a cheesy little Saga short story that I'm having fun with. Actually, I'm having too much fun with it since I still have to get the Beyond Ceremony finished. I got Drabba's stuff today and I'm trying to integrate it. I hope it does well together.
All in all, life is going relatively smoothly right now and will go even smoother after 8/11. I hope you all are doing well. I've been lurking in your LJs but not commenting as much lately. Sorry. :(
