I spent the first hour and a half when I got home today watching H. He wasn't right when I got in the door, and proved extremely lethargic - not even moving right when I picked him up. Not moving when I took him outside. Eventually getting up and walking inside when I took him out the front on a harness, when normally he's raring to get out there. I did find a small vomit pile with a few leaves in it when I came in - he'd had access to the side yard for a few hours before I got home - but apart from taht there was no evidence of illness, just a massive lethargy.

So in the hope of making him throw up - because when he was just sitting, he was kind of hunched over looking very uncomfortable - I shut him and me in the bathroom and syringed about 100 ml of water into him, but he didn't throw up. I sat him in the bath in the hope jumping out would move something around a bit, and he didn't move for 10 minutes. :(

When Michael got home, he was just sitting in the sun on the floor in the spare room, and looked a little more alert, and he's improved significantly since then - even eating a few biscuits, and cuddling/purring at me - and jumping on the table. So he seems to be better. I was pretty terrified for a while though, and I'm still not confident that he's ok - just better than he was.

Pretty scary stuff.

Made some soy pancakes with stewed rhubarb and fried apple tonight. was good. had vegie lasagne with the soy bacon I  bought a week ago, which was also good.

I forget if I already blogged about last night's dinner, but it was pretty awesome - pureed parsnip and ginger with rice milk (guest couldn't have soy or normal milk), polenta-stuffed mushrooms, roasted eggplant and potato chunks with dukkah.
