Fangirl meme, day 2!
If I manage to keep posting once a week, I'll be pretty pleased with myself!
Last night was the 8th annual AKB General Election, which I managed to sleep through entirely (the danger of things starting at 10PM on a Friday night, when you're usually asleep by 9...). I caught up this morning, though, and am pretty darn pleased with the results. I really wanted Sasshi to be the first to win twice in a row, but did NOT expect her to win so definitively. 70,000 votes more than #2??? That's just ridiculous. I was also happy to see Haruppi finally make it into the senbatsu, and was also pleased to see so many girls rank for the first time. With a generational shift approaching (after Kojiharu graduates, there will only be one originating member remaining), it's good to see that there is so much support for the younger members.
Day 2: Your Current Fandom
I think I am following more fandoms at once than I ever have been. Part of the nice thing about having to commute on the bus two hours a day is the fact that I get two solid hours of fic reading almost every day, so I can keep up with quite a bit. Right now Check Please is probably my top fandom, with Dragon Age a close second. I'm still reading quite a bit of Mass Effect, too. Also, in the past month, I've been dragged into hockey something fierce (thanks karinberry for being relentlessly enthusiastic about it, and for half of my tlist being Pens fans). It's been a long time since I've really felt the desire to follow a sport - it's hard in HI, since the majority of games are played when I'm still at work. But we'll see how it goes when things start up again in September!
