It's been a good few days on Twitter reminiscing about the LJ days.
tinyangl (aaaaah I remembered how to do LJ tags without looking, woo!) has been doing this fangirl meme that looks fun, so I'm jumping on the bandwagon.
But first, life update (for the maybe 2 of you reading this that don't follow me elsewhere). I am still in Hawaii. L and I just came back from a three week trip to London and NY, which was great, especially since we got to see both sides of the family. The NY trip was a bit melancholy, as I was there for my grandmother's burial, but it was also nice to introduce L to my cousins and my dad's side of the family, as well as show him the area my parents are from.
School is... school. I'm seriously contemplating not finishing my degree. It doesn't bring me any joy anymore, and my department is a mess. L is in a similar situation. It sucks, but we're trying to take our time and weigh all of our options before making any rash decisions.
Work is better, though! I started full-time this week at the company I've worked for since 2012, and it's been good so far. It's really nice because I'm one of the employees that's been there the longest, and even when our company grew and grew (there were 5 of us when I started at the company, there are almost 20 now) there was still a place for me. So finally going full-time feels a bit like me giving back to them.
Anyway, it's meme time:
Day 1: Your favorite all-time fandom(s)
I had to think about this one for a while, and it's probably JE. I just learned so much about myself and people in that fandom. It was my first time running a fic exchange, which taught me quite a bit about project management, haha! Also, it came at the right time. I found JE when I was being diagnosed with fibromyalgia/CFS, and then I was in Vienna alone and sick, and everyone I met in JE was so friendly and kind. I remember long comment threads, chatting daily with
swtjemz, actually getting comments on my fic for once in my life.... The friends I made in JE (and friends I made that were introduced via them) are still some of my best friends today, and that's why JE is my favorite.
Also, the backstage of Summary 2004 is still one of the greatest things. Piiiiiiiiiiin.
