Ship: Adam/Kris
Word Count: 2,825
Summary: Kris and Adam get trapped in a snowstorm on their way to the airport. They think they are going to die so they have sex because it's their "last chance."
Author's Note: Written in response to prompt #40 of the ONTD_AI kink meme: Kradam--They think they are going to die due to zombies/tornado/shipwreck/whatever you want, so they have sextimes in an enclosed space because it’s the ~last chance~. But they end up getting rescued. Also, I have gotten requests to write a sequel so it is on my list of WIPs. These are real people, but these events are completely fictitious, as far as I know. Thank you to my fabulous beta, dreamblossoms for all her help.

“You boys be careful. It might snow, and it’s dark.” Kim Allen said, hugging Kris and Adam goodbye. “I hope you had fun staying with us for the holidays, Adam. Maybe next year Kris can spend Hanukkah with your family.”

“I had a great time,” Adam told her, smiling. “I really hope we can do it again.” He finished pulling on his gloves, grabbing his suitcase and heading toward the front door as Kris lingered behind with Katy.

“I’ll see you on the 5th, right?” he heard Kris ask her softly.

“Right,” she replied, and Adam heard the quick goodbye kiss the couple shared. “Love you, baby. You two listen to Mom now, and be careful on those roads! There might be black ice out tonight.”

Adam held the door for Kris as Kris wrestled his suitcases out, calling over his shoulder, “Don’t worry, we’ll be careful. I’m a great driver, and I promise not to let Adam drive.”

“Hey,” Adam said, swatting at his shoulder. “I’m a great driver too.”

“Not in dark Arkansas storm weather,” Kris said, popping the trunk on his rental car as Adam came gingerly down the slippery steps from the porch.

They wedged their suitcases inside the trunk, and Adam climbed into the front passenger seat as Kris waved back at Katy, who was standing in the door with his mom. “Love you both! See you soon, Katy girl!”

By the time Kris swung himself into the driver’s seat and flipped the key, Adam already had his iPod out. “I get to pick the music,” he said, daring Kris to fight him for it.

Kris laughed, watching his mirrors as he backed out of the driveway. “As long as you don’t play what you did last time, I don’t care.”

Adam looked at him out of the corner of his eye. “Kris, you know that was a joke, right?”

Kris looked at him for a moment with an exaggerated look of shock on his face, before cracking up.

“You have no poker face, Allen.”

Kris swallowed a last giggle. “Well, even if it was a joke, it was still torture. Pick something better.”

“No, no, I wouldn’t dare pick something with you calling my taste torture. We have about thirty minutes to the airport. What would you like to hear?”

Kris made a face at him, without taking his eyes off the road. It was pretty dark, out here in the country without the bright lights of L.A. lighting everything clear as day. “No, it’s fine, you go right ahead. Pick whatever, I can stand anything for thirty minutes.”

Adam let a wicked grin play at the corners of his mouth. “Okay.” He scrolled through his iPod until he found what he was looking for.

The instant the song came on, Kris let out an aggravated growl. “Adam! Anything but that. I don’t want to listen to myself sing for thirty minutes? Would you want to listen to yourself sing while you were driving?”

Adam arched an eyebrow at him, even though he doubted Kris could see it in the darkness.

Kris sighed. “Never mind, don’t answer that. Of course you would, you narcissist. Just play something else.”

Adam laughed and obliged. He settled back in his seat, listening to Matt Nathanson and letting the pleasant darkness of Arkansas settle over him.

They were about halfway to Little Rock when it happened. A deer darted out in front of them. Kris was swerving to miss it before Adam’s heart was halfway into its sickening plunge, but unfortunately they hit some ice on the side of the road, and when Kris overcorrected to keep control of the car, one of the tires blew out.

It was over in just a few seconds, the car stopped at the side of the road, both of them unharmed but shaken up. Adam sat there, seatbelt digging into his neck, heart racing, feeling like he’d just run a marathon.

Beside him, Kris swore under his breath as he unbuckled his seat belt. “Come on, help me change the flat so we don’t miss our flight.”

Adam made his fingers let go of the armrest, which he’d clutched like it was his salvation, and followed slowly.

They pulled all of the suitcases out of the trunk before they accepted the hard truth that there was no spare tire in there. “Who the frick doesn’t put a spare tire in a rental car?” Kris said, kicking the car in frustration.

“We can call a tow truck,” Adam offered. He honestly wasn’t sure if he knew what to do with a spare tire anyway.
“I don’t have any cell reception,” Kris said, shoving his cell phone back into his pocket vehemently.

Adam checked. “Shit, I don’t either. Now what the fuck are we going to do?”

“We could try to hitchhike, but I was taking this back road to get there more quickly, and I haven’t seen any cars for quite a while,” Kris said, looking past Adam’s shoulder to the dark road.

“Kristopher, hitchhiking would probably not be a good idea anyway. We’re kind of famous.”

Kris made a face at him. “It’s Arkansas. And what are they going to do, hold us for ransom?”

Adam shrugged. “Well, in any case, it’s the middle of the night and we have no cell reception and I can’t see a fucking thing. I suggest we get in the car - because I’m freezing to death out here - and wait until either a police car comes by or until it’s morning. In the morning we can hike to the nearest house, or farm, or whatever you guys have out here.”

Kris sighed. “And get a new flight out tomorrow. Yeah, I guess that’s really the only plan that’ll work.”

They climbed back into the car, and Kris turned on the heater for a couple of minutes to warm up the car.

As Kris was fumbling with it, Adam noticed something. “Uh, Kris, more good news. It’s starting to snow.”

“Are you kidding me?” Kris said, whipping his head up. Adam wasn’t an expert, but the snow didn’t look like it was playing games. It looked like it was going to get really heavy very soon.

Kris dropped his head on the dashboard, then started rhythmically smacking his forehead into it.

“Hey, it’s okay,” Adam said. “We’ll be fine.” He reached into the backseat and grabbed Kris’ guitar. “We’ll write a song or something. There are lots of things we can do to keep busy and stay warm.”

Kris didn’t say anything for a few moments, but eventually he sighed and sat back again. “I guess you’re right. The snow plows will be by in the morning, and people will see us stranded here. We don’t have anything to worry about, right?” He sounded more like he was trying to convince himself than anything else, but he did take the guitar from Adam, which was enough for now.
They sang a few songs and even wrote a few really stupid ones. Every once in a while, when it got too cold, Kris would run the heater for a little bit to warm the car up. By the time Adam’s voice started to get a little hoarse, it was probably about three hours later. It was hard to tell in the darkness without actually getting out of the car, but Kris said it looked like about six inches of snow had fallen already. And it didn’t look like it was letting up any time soon.

“We should probably try to get some sleep,” Adam said, forcing his voice to remain cheerful. “If we’re going to have to dig ourselves out of here in the morning and hike in that snow to the nearest farm or gas station, we’ll need our energy.”

Kris nodded, running his fingers up and down his guitar strings. “You should probably stretch out in the backseat. There’s a lot more leg room back there.”

“Good idea,” Adam said. Climbing into the backseat was rather difficult, but Kris leaned to his left and Adam managed. He’d always been flexible anyway. He took off his coat so he could use it as a blanket, and tried to fold himself up and get comfortable. In front, Kris was putting his guitar in the passenger seat and taking off his coat as well.

The next thing Adam knew, Kris was shaking him. “Adam, wake up.”

Adam was shivering even before he was fully awake.

Kris sounded as cold as Adam felt. “The car died so I can’t turn the heater on.”

Adam opened his eyes, but didn’t want to move. He was afraid to lose the little body heat he had. Before he could decide to sit up, Kris had climbed into the back seat with him, bringing his own coat with him and draping it over both of their legs.

“We need to use each other’s body heat to keep warm,” Kris told him, sounding anxious.

Adam wrapped his arm around Kris and pulled him in close. “I don’t know how warm the two of us can get if we are already freezing,” Adam said, as he began shivering again. “How long until morning? How long will it take for us to freeze to death?” He was trying to sound light, but it came out sardonic instead.

“Adam, don’t say that. You said so yourself. We’re going to be fine.”

“That was when we had the heater. Now, we’re going to freeze to death,” Adam said. His voice sounded panicky now, even to himself. “How are we supposed to keep warm without a heater, light the car on fire?”

“Adam, don’t be ridiculous. We aren’t going to light the car on fire,” Kris said.

“But, how…” Adam started to say, but was abruptly stopped when Kris started to kiss him. Kris kissed him deeply and tangled his hand in Adam’s hair. Adam let out a small whimper when Kris pulled at his bottom lip with his teeth before he finally broke the kiss.

The cold came rushing back in after a minute, when Adam collected his thoughts enough to remember it. “Um, Kris. Where did that come from?”

“If we’re going to die, I’m not going to stop myself anymore.”

“What is that supposed to mean?” Adam asked, his blood rushing in his ears.

“Adam, you can’t tell me that you didn’t pick up on the feelings I have for you. Did you think I was joking when I said I had a crush on you?” Kris’s voice was very small, his breath frosting in the cold.

“Well, yeah. You teased me enough all the time, but I just thought it was just you being a tease. I didn’t know you genuinely meant it.”

“I did. I still do.” Kris explained. “I want to be with you. I want to be with you so fucking much that it hurts.”

“Kris…”

“No, I know we can’t. I’m with Katy. I love Katy. I never want to hurt her, but if this is my last chance, if we’re going to freeze to death, I don’t want to waste it.”

Adam looked at him, considering. “Are you sure?”

Kris looked back at him, and even in the darkness Adam could see the determination in Kris’s eyes. “Yes, I’m sure. Besides,” and Adam could see the blush too, “we’ll stay warmer this way.”

“You’re right,” Adam said, then moved out of the way so he could open the back of the seat to get into the trunk. He found his suitcase and felt around with his hand until he found what he was looking for. After he closed the back of the seat, he held up a small bottle of lube. “I always keep it in my suitcase so I have it when I travel.” Adam said, laughing a little. He made sure Kris could see the lube, know what he was getting into, have time to reconsider.

But Kris only laughed. “How Boy Scout of you,” he said, and reached out and took the lube from Adam’s hand.

And then Kris was climbing over to Adam and straddling his lap, kissing him and wrapping his arms around Adam’s neck. Adam ran his hands up under Kris’ shirt and lightly raked his nails down his back. He bucked his hips and grabbed Kris’ ass. Adam started to kiss down Kris’ neck and Kris let his head fall back so Adam had more access. Adam pushed Kris’ shirt up and kissed his chest and stomach. He started to rub Kris’ erection through his jeans. Kris grabbed at his jeans and started unbuttoning them, then scooted back into the space between the front seats. While Kris was struggling in the small space to get off his own pants, Adam unbuttoned his own jeans and lifted his hips so he could push them down.

Before long Kris was climbing back onto Adam’s lap, and Adam opened the lube and poured some into his hand so he could lube up his fingers and cock. He reached between them and slowly started to press a finger into Kris while Kris rested his forehead against Adam’s shoulder panting slightly.

“You okay?” Adam asked.

“Uh huh, don’t stop.” Kris panted.

Adam added a second finger and Kris shuddered as he twisted and scissored them to help open him up. Kris started to press back against Adam’s fingers as he got used to the sensation. When Adam added a third finger, Kris bit down on Adam’s shoulder and started moaning loudly.

“Shit. Oh God, Adam,” Kris moaned loudly and started riding Adam’s fingers hard.

He raised his head to kiss Adam again and continued to ride Adam’s fingers for a few minutes. Adam slowly removed his fingers. Kris groaned in protest. Adam gripped Kris’ hips and helped position him over his leaking cock. Adam helped Kris ease down slowly on his cock, holding his hips so he didn’t take too much too quickly. Kris moaned and started muttering curses under his breath.

“Do you need me to stop?” Adam asked, concern in his voice. He knew what it was like the first time and he didn’t want to overwhelm Kris.

“”Don’t you dare.” Kris breathed harshly.

After a few moments, Kris started to ride Adam’s cock as he began to pump his own. Adam moaned as Kris sank all the way down. He bucked his hips and grabbed the back of Kris’ head to pull him into a rough and breathless kiss. Adam began thrusting upward more as Kris started really riding him, throwing his head back and biting his lip. Adam licked up Kris throat and nipped at his jaw before he came hard into Kris’ ass. Kris rode Adam’s dick a few moments longer before he came too all over him and Adam. Adam pulled him close into a tight embrace and pressed a kiss just behind his ear. Kris wrapped his arms tightly around Adam as they both rode out their orgasms and tried to breathe normally again. After a few minutes, Adam steadied Kris as he carefully rose up off of Adam’s cock. Kris looked at Adam through heavily lidded eyes and smiled. Adam leaned over and gave Kris a final chaste kiss before pulling him off of his lap to settle next to him. They pulled their clothes back on and covered themselves with the coats. Kris leaned into Adam’s side and Adam wrapped his arm around him.

“I love you. I hope you know that Adam.”

“I know. I love you too.”

They drifted back off to sleep, warm for the moment, completely sated and happy, no matter what their fate.

~~

Adam awoke to the blinding whiteness surrounding them now that the sun was up and reflecting off of the snow. As Adam shifted and stretched, Kris woke up and rubbed his eyes.

“Hey,” Kris said sleepily.

“Hey.”

“Good morning.” Kris said a smile spreading across his face.

“We didn’t freeze to death, and that makes it a wonderful morning,” Adam told him, smiling.

“No, we didn’t,” Kris said. He sounded slightly dejected.

“What, did you want to freeze to death?” Adam asked, poking him.

“No, it’s just…” Kris began.

Adam made his voice serious. “Kris, last night doesn’t have to change anything if you don’t want. I know you have Katy. We both thought it was our last chance; we thought we were going to die.”

“I know. It’s just…I don’t know what I want now.”

“You don’t have to figure it out right now. I’m not pressuring you to make any decisions. You’ll have time to figure out what you want, but right now, we need to dig ourselves out of this igloo.” Adam said. He smiled down into Kris’s eyes.

“Okay.” Kris said, smiling again and leaning over to give Adam a quick kiss.

And Adam felt truly warm at last.
