I think it's safe to say that my violin is going through puberty... lately, it's been making a lot of scratchy noises and right after I changed the D string the peg started to make that noise... you the noise I'm talking about, the one that sounds like the peg is cracking? Frankly, I'm quite irritated by it all. I would put fine tuners on all of the strings, but they're quite unsightly, especially if they're not gold-plated.
Chamber Orchestra kicked off a week ago and the past two rehearsals have confirmed that I still suck at sightreading and rhythm.
The college process- is going pretty well... I guess. I will be applying to College of the Holy Cross, Muhlenberg College, Johns Hopkins U, Lehigh U, St. Michael's, Stony brook, UVM, Quinnipiac, and maybe one more that I can't remember. Jeezus, that's a lot of schools. The application process would be so much simpler if I didn't have 4 different freaking essays to write. Secretly, I'm crossing my fingers and hope that the essays will write themselves. What do you say to that, madre?
Senior year is going to cruise, I hope. Biology is ridiculously easy. Prolly have an A to a high A so far in that class. English is really tough. Spanish isn't so bad.
Yes, Sr. District audition coming up. The piece is the easiest thing I've probably played for an audition. Though, the crazy thing is that they're asking for 3 octave scales at 100..."descending and ascending" according to them. Now, I know it's not as fast it seems, but... murder, I tell you.
