So I'm walking to work this morning, like I do every morning. My route takes me past Monroe Middle School (now Monroe High School) and then through the back of the Preferred Care parking lot past School Without Walls.
This well dressed woman (not some random creepy homeless lady - she looked like she had her shit together) tries to get my attention by hailing me with "Little Girl!"
"Yes?"
"Do you go to School Without Walls?"
"No, I'm done with school."
"But you're like 15!"
"No, I'm older than that."
"But you can't be that much older than that. 18?"
"No."
"Can I ask how old you are?"
"I'm 23."
She then proceeds to apologize for calling me Little Girl and tells me I have "a baby, baby face."
Fuck. I'm sorry, lady, but even at the age of 15 I would not have appreciated being called a little girl by ANYONE, least of all a complete stranger. I mean, I've got nothing against you, and I meant it when I said that I hope you have a good day, but um... yeah. Please don't do that again.
