Woohoo!

It has been such a good day!

Sad things though: I did not get a ticket to see Obama speak at the tree-lighting ceremony, and I have so much to do this weekend and next week…sigh.

Oh well. Moving on.

Amy Newman, my wonderful best friend back home is AMAZING! I got an email saying that I had to pick up a package. Now, I haven't been expecting anything, so I was a little confused. I picked it up and it was from Amy. I was like, "OMG! What?!?" She sent me hot chocolate mix, lounge socks, peppermint bark, hand cream/antibacterial (amazing is it not?), a little rubber duck with reindeer antlers, and a lovely card. Now, how sweet is that? I started to cry, it was so nice. I tried to call her, but she was not yet home. Trying again later. I love her!!!!

Also! So, I auditioned for the Theatre Department's production of Much Ado About Nothing. I got a callback, and for most of the day I was freaking out. They were supposed to post the list last night. Then they pushed it to noon today, but it still wasn't up even then. Finally, after my geology lab review, I checked my email, and it was there. I got a very small part, the Sexton. But, I'm so thrilled. It's my first mainstage show, and it's one of my favorite Shakespeare plays. Apparently the director is very cool. I don't know him too well. He seems nice. I might be the only freshman cast who isn't on the arts scholarship. I'm not sure, though.

I'm just so happy that I know I'll have at least one show to work on next semester. I've been empty since my plays have ended, and I've been trying so hard to get into another, but they haven't come together until now.

And the part is small enough (I think I'm in one scene) that I can work in student theatre, and hopefully get in a musical next semester, or at least the musical cabaret. Also, I can make sexual innuendo with my character name. Win! LOL. Ahhh! But, I'm so happy I got something. I'm going to get measured for my costume tomorrow. Heehee. Yaayyyyy!!!

I'm so excited! Life is good, and now to work.

sexton, mainstage, plays, finally, much ado about nothing, show, cast
