Next Semester Schedule!

Nov 16, 2009 19:54

So very early this morning, much to my dismay, I registered for my classes for next semester. I really do not like having to wake up at 6:30 to get online to register when it opens at 7 to hopefully get my classes. Sigh.

That aside, I am quite happy with next semester's schedule!

11:10 a.m.-12:00 p.m. University Writing: Dutch Paintings in the National Gallery of Art
2:20 p.m.-3:35 p.m. Intro to Creative Writing

I will also be registering for voice lessons tomorrow. I'm not sure exactly when, but it might be the same as this semester: Tuesdays 1:30 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Not totally sure though.

Things that make me very happy about this schedule:
1. I don't have any 8:00 a.m. classes!!! I didn't have any this semester, and that thrilled me. I went through the whole of high school with classes at 7:00 a.m. I hated it. I am not a morning person. 9:35 a.m.? This is doable! Woohoo!!!!!
2. I don't have more than three classes a day. This semester was nice in that I was done on Fridays before 11:00 a.m., but Wednesdays were a little tough. I always got through them, but it was not always fun. I like 2-3 classes a day, especially since some of them are only 50 minutes long.
3. My schedule is relatively consistent. This semester Mondays went from 12:45-6, Tuesdays 11:10-2, Wednesdays 9:35-6, Thursdays 11:10-3:00, Fridays 9:35-10:50. It was just a little crazy having my days start
and end at such different times each day. This gives me a little consistency.
4. My classes don't go later than 3:35 p.m. I prefer evening classes to morning ones, but honestly, I;m usually losing some kind of focus as the day goes on.

I am so excited for my classes, too!
French: I've been away from it for a semester, and I miss it. I love French. Honestly, I just like it so much, the language, the culture, and everything. I'm really excited to be going back to it, hopefully before I forget too much.

Scene Study: This is the class that goes after Intro to Acting, but is a prerequisite to all the other acting classes. I like being up on my feet. This way, even without a play for a while, I'll at least have some acting going on, and I won't go insane. And I think I'll have one of my friends in this class.

UW: Each freshman has to take a University Writing course that goes through and teaches research writing etc. They all try to do the same thing, but the subjects are different. Dutch paintings? Yay! I love museums, especially the NGA. It's one of my favorites. And I love art, so I think it was a good choice.

Diary: Dean Seminars are small courses restricted to freshman in the College of Arts and Sciences (as opposed to Business, International Affairs, capped at 20 people. The professors teach discussion classes on subjects they've researched etc. It's nice getting to know professors. And this subject seemed interesting. I'm excited.

Creative Writing: It's a prerequisite for Playwriting classes. And it should be so fun! Creative writing is what I always end up doing, so learning to do it well is a good idea, yes?

I'm so happy how my schedule worked out. :-D

college, excited, future, happy
