I didn't know very much about the Zuck before I got into TSN fandom. Mostly that he was dating an ABC and reminded me vaguely of a couple of boys I went to school with. So far so good. Mr Zuckerberg didn't really have an immediate impact on my life because I rarely use Facebook and we have no common acquaintances so neither his website nor he as a person really did anything to catch my interest.
Jesse Eisenberg who plays him in TSN made him come alive for me. Unfortunately it turned out that Jesse's a much cooler version of the real thing. In the movie he came across as being an asshole because he didn't know any better. The real Zuckerberg called his own users 'dumb fucks' and... sorry, but there's no nerdy parallel universe in which calling other people that is okay.
While I must agree that most people in the world are, in fact, dumb compared to Mr Zuckerberg (myself excluded), I still don't think it's all right to say that. Being rather gifted myself, I do not feel the need to lord it over people in order to feel better about myself. Because... why else would he feel the need to say shit like that? By the time he said that he had no way of knowing he would be richer than god some day, but he must have known that he would be successful, no matter what he did, and I guess I expect people like him to be somewhat better than the majority of the world's population are. But I was wrong.
I still prefer Jesse Eisenberg's Mark to the real thing.
