Ok, so my subject today is beauty. Things that strike you as beautiful or magical.
Just recently, I saw the trailer for "Where The Wild Things Are" for the first time. I'm so excited about this movie, because the book was a childhood favorite of mine.
But for now, let's talk about beauty.
I see beauty in this trailer, because of the story. In the story, young Max is sent to bed without supper. In his room, he dreams up a world full of "wild things." The book has childish imagination, but, like many wonderful childrens' stories, it turns a little sinister in the end.
Now, I've noticed that most good childrens' books have an undertone of evil. But in another way, this makes them beautiful. There's childish whimsey and imagination overcoming the evil. There's something so pure and innocent about these stories, and always the feeling of good overcoming evil.
I've been listening to the song from this trailer over and over today, because it just stirrs something in me. The music coupled with the image of Max running through his imaginary world...
