done with all the talk talk talk with nothing on the table

So yesterday was a day. Work was a thing that happened. And kept happening. It probably warrants a long locked post for venting, but meh. Suffice it to say I was not impressed with other people's inability to understand that their inability to finalize some documents meant extra hours of work and a trip to FedEx/Kinkos for me. But it got done and is out of my hands now, and I'm sure I was not able to keep all of my displeasure under wraps so we'll see what happens going forward.

Anyway! Television!

Steven Universe: Three Gems and a Baby
This was adorably charming until it was really sad. But it also showed how much the Crystal Gems have grown as people, and that's lovely. Also, help me out - was there a second episode? Or just a stinger with Steven and Connie? My recording cut off with them toasting marshmallows. Was there more after that?

Pitch: Scratched
I mean, if this were a one-season/limited series type of thing, I would have been more uncertain about Mike being traded, but given the givens, I knew he wouldn't be. And as much as I am shipping him and Ginny, I think it might have been too early to pull that trigger? Of even having them acknowledge it? Like, I don't want a long drawn out will they/won't they, but a season of pining and fraught glances and touches would be nice. I am just saying. This could be handwaved as goodbye? But now they're aware of it, so maybe I'll get what I want if the show is renewed? I mean, I guess other stuff happened (♥EVELYN♥) but mostly I was into the Ginny/Mike of it all.

Legends of Tomorrow: Invasion!
What a surprisingly strong ending to the crossover. I have to admit, aside from the nonsense of them advertising it as a four-night event when the Supergirl episode didn't tie in at all, I was really impressed with this crossover. I mean, the Dominators were whatever - who cares? Even getting Doc Cottle as the Cigarette Smoking Man didn't save that plotline (though yay another lady president! Every TV show for the next four years should have a woman president *sobs*), though Kara's smug takedown of him at the end was nice.

No, this was great for character interaction and also carrying forward some growth (Cisco learning how easy it is to fuck the timeline just by trying to help and forgiving Barry). I wish Kara had had more to do, but that semi-consensual group hug at the end with her and Barry and Oliver GIVES ME LIFE. I also loved the Sara/Oliver hug and their reflection on how they got there. Plus, BARRY AND OLIVER AT THE END. ♥♥♥♥♥ ALSO, HALL OF JUSTICE. And Ray's, "She looks just like my cousin!" Ha! It took them a while to pull the trigger on that reference and I'm so glad they saved it and got an opportunity to flip it!

Will I go back to watching LoT now? Probably not, but I'm glad we got this crossover and I can't wait for the musical one between Flash and Supergirl later on.
