The prequels told us that Jedi took very young children from their families and refused them any further contact, so.... Perhaps they thought that giving Anakin someone younger to look after would make him more responsible? (While they themselves were sending young people out into warzones.)
Oh, I definitely think that was part of the reason Yoda did it (and I think that actually worked, though being responsible for the clone troopers also grounded him a little - he was somewhat less likely to do things that he could survive but the clones wouldn't when Rex pointed it out to him), as well as to teach him to be attached to someone where the relationship had a natural letting go point (i.e., she would graduate) so that he could learn to release his attachments. That part unfortunately didn't quite go as planned, though they were making steps in that direction, I think. I think he'd have been able to separate from her had she been knighted instead of leaving the way she did. Then again, maybe not, considering he and Obi-Wan are still partnering up after his own knighting.
I wonder if they kept teaming him up with Obi-Wan to kind of keep him on a leash.
btw, I've been very happy with all the new Beth stuff, the deepening of her story, in the current season of Orphan Black. Yeah, I would've made more than one backup of that data, especially considering they were going into Brightborn, too. At least they should still have what parts of it came from that special copy of The Island of Dr. Moreau.

That did occur to me after I posted that comment! I wouldn't be at all surprised if that were the case. I guess the idea that you have to show trust to earn trust never really applied in Anakin's case with the Council.

I'm not fully caught up, but I do expect that to come into play for the season finale!
Agreed on how Cosima's involvement made Kendall's death scene really poignant, and that OMG TELL KRYSTAL. Especially since being a clone has put her in danger already and she doesn't know why. Also agreed on the ever-increasing levels of conspiracy and intrigue. I rewatched because I couldn't keep track of what's been going on this series, and I'd say everything but Paul's retcon as a Castor mole holds together more-or-less. But I hope it doesn't get too much more complex because that can end up feeling arbitrary.
I'm not fully caught up, but they absolutely need to clue Krystal in because she's going to stumble into things anyway and at least if she knows the truth, she can protect herself (or they can protect her) because I don't think Evie Cho is going to accept that she doesn't know anything even if she's currently saying the naive clones won't be terminated.
