I'm also interested to see how they play Natasha's decision, because even though I've seen arguments in favor of her being pro-reg, none of them feel compelling enough to me in the movieverse.
For me, this decision will make or break the movie. I cannot see it right now, but maybe they'll wow me with something I don't expect. But this decision holds far more weight in my mind than any other, most especially Steve-Tony because seriously? You're gonna hang your drama on that? Come on.
"Bellamy's okay with slaughter except with it hits someone he knows/cares about"
I actually think this is right on. Bellamy cares about those he defines as his people, period. Which is really only the people from the Ark, plus Lincoln. I think he showed mercy to Indra purely because of Octavia; if it had been anyone else there, they'd be dead. And while Lincoln's in jail, he's not in physical peril, so Bellamy may actually think he's helping him.
But really truly, the male lead's caring extends only so far as his people and no further. Which is kind of amazing, when you think about it. A lot of heroes are defined as such because they care about the little guy, people they don't know, and try to protect them despite that.
Bellamy does not give a fuck. Anyone he doesn't care about can go die as far as he's concerned; hell, he'll kill them himself if it will help the people he does care about. His motivations are inherently selfish. Which is just strikingly bold.
I don't like it, but I understand it. And I feel like I understand him. He's shown us who he is.
