Let's do some quick TV talk!
The X-Files: My Struggle II
Well that was some annoying and cryptic bullshit, but I am okay with the idea of Scully saving the world with her blood (and living; I can't stipulate that hard enough - Scully is immortal and cannot die). Like, if it were up to me, and they were going to do this limited series thing, this should have been the start (or, lbr, I wouldn't want to lose the Were-Monster ep, so that could have been first and this could have been second), and then the rest could be about trying to stop an out of the bag apocalypse/living through to the post-apocalypse. That would have been bold and interesting and, you know, a new story to tell. This was a rehash that not only didn't reveal anything new or interesting about the world of the X-Files, it tried unsuccessfully to retcon some stuff and didn't provide an actual ending. So what the fuck ever.
Jane the Virgin
Oh, thank god Luisa wasn't duped/drinking again/that self-destructive. I'm sad that Rose is dead because Bridget Regan truly is a gift, but there's still Mutter, and that should be enough drama. I also liked that Petra and Jane are slowly finding common ground and while they might never be besties, they can still be friendly, since they are going to be family, kind of. Also, I loved the meta touches. And the hilarity of Rogelio, #firstmalefeminist. Xo doing what was right for herself even if it meant breaking her own heart. Alba understanding that the promise she extracted from a noncomprehending 10yo shouldn't hold up fourteen years later. the only thing I'm not thrilled about is Jane getting back with Michael. She and Jonathan had mad hot chemistry, and also I hope Michael's had some kind of anger management therapy because I haven't forgotten that he hurt Mateo, inadvertent as it might have been, because he lost his temper with Rafael.
iZombie: whatever last week's episode was called
AND SHIT KEEPS GETTING REALER. I don't have a lot of deep thoughts here. I just love Liv's relationships with Ravi, Clive, and even Major now (mostly because I really like Ravi and Major's friendship and I can OT3 them), and also that Clive finally articulated that he knows she takes on the personalities of the victims, though he seriously needs to be read into the zombie thing.
Brooklyn Nine Nine: last week's episode
THE BEAN PLOT. HOLT'S FANBOYING THE OBOIST. I laughed a lot at this, though I think nothing will quite equal Rosa psyching herself up for donating blood by yelling at the phlebotomy tech.
In other news, writing is hard! Trying to be funny on purpose is so much harder than anything else. Bah.
