I posted a story yesterday:
ain't no particular sign I'm more compatible with (at AO3)
Captain America; Steve/Bucky; g; 1,720 words
Bucky's always been kind of a ladies' man. Steve's never quite gotten used to it.
I don't know why it took me this long to write Steve doing nail art, but I'm glad I finally did it! *g*
And I finished just in time for the opening pitch of game 2 of the NLCS. I am completely braindead but watching the Mets beat Arrieta and the Cubs was so totally worth it. They just need two more! Surely they can manage that! I hope! Sigh.
I also caught up on some teevee this weekend:
Jane the Virgin
I am so glad they did not drag out Mateo's kidnapping/return. That was heartrending. I'm so happy to have the Villanueva ladies - and the Latin Lover Narrator - back in my life. Also, Petra! Much like the LLN, I find myself rooting for her and then going, wait, what? YOU'RE BETTER THAN THIS, PETRA. I about died laughing at that shot of her with her legs up after the turkey baster delivery.
While I'm not a huge fan of Michael (I wouldn't say I'm Team Rafael, either, though), I liked that he was still helping out and that he didn't take the easy out with giving Rafael advice. And I continue to love the Michael & Rogelio bro show.
The Flash: Flash of Two Worlds
All the geeky glee in the world (I've never even read a Flash comic and I was thrilled to see them recreate that iconic cover) can't erase the fact that this is twice in two episodes now Barry et al. have just straight up killed a dude. I'd rather they go back to the terrible black box prison in the supercollider! Even though Joe explicitly says Iron Heights can now handle metahuman prisoners.
I didn't love the Patty Spivot bits, either. Stop trying so hard, show! Also, she smiled way too much. I don't trust people who smile that much. I mean, it could just be her face? But it was weirding me out. Dial it down a little, and I'll be happy to have her on board.
I also didn't like Caitlin's new sideswept bangs. Bad style choice.
I did like Cisco using his new powers! Though I didn't like him not wanting to tell anybody else. Yes, Cisco, Barry is going to think you're bad because Thawne!Wells gave you your powers! CURSE YOUR DOPENESS VIBE.
I'm also already tired of Barry being all untrusting and broody. Though I suppose with Ollie lightening up so much, maybe they felt the need for brooding somewhere? Meh. Doesn't belong here.
Otoh, Harrison Wells, I think it might be illegal to be that shady in front of schoolchildren! I do love the art deco design of what I'm guessing is Earth 2.
I am very interested in Mama West. And I imagine Wally will follow in her wake.

OH MAJOR NO. I'm not really happy with this turn of events, tbh. There's putting a character through the wringer, and then there's piling on until it's ridiculous. Though I guess if he's a utopium junkie, he can't continue to be Max Rager's zombie hitman. Er, hitman who kills zombies, not hitman who is a zombie. Anymore.
But I loved Major and Ravi scoring drugs and tripping at the club. Oh my gosh how cute are they?
They also need to tone down Liv's personality shifts or have her explain to Clive that they're part of the vision deal. But I loved her caution tape dress! And evil roommate's attitude towards drinking at a frat party.
So overall I enjoyed all three shows, with some misgivings.
The Giants are on tonight, so I will be back to being behind again. Sigh.
