who knows where that might lead

I guess we're gearing up for yuletide season, and nominations are coming soon. I imagine someone else is going to make a case for The Raven Cycle being eligible (barely? I didn't check ff.net, but it's at about 650 complete/English/1000+ words stories on AO3 so there's not really room for it to be big on ff.net), so all I would need to do is make sure Maura Sargent is in the character set. Same for if Check, Please! is eligible (I didn't check on that) - I would want Lardo in the group for requesting purposes.

I think those are the only two things that I'd like to request that seem like they'll bump up against the eligibility requirements. I haven't yet thought about what I'm going to offer. I might keep it small and easy this year, so I'd need to make sure some of those things get nominated too. Last year, a couple of my old standbys (Roman Holiday, The Philadelphia Story) weren't nominated/in the tag set, which was disappointing. I definitely think I'm going to avoid offering in open canon fandoms, though. Last year it was pretty stressful.

In other news, I am cautiously optimistic after last night's Mets victory, though I'm hesitant to get too excited, because I remember 2007 and the epic collapse, and how unbelievable and heartbreaking it was. But mostly I just text my dad and brother during games in exclamations like HOLY CRAP! ARE YOU SEEING THIS? and CESPEDES!!!

So you too can know what I'm !!! about, Kelly Johnson's game-tying home run and Cespedes' two-run shot to take the lead from last night. On a team with a bunch of guys with superhero nicknames, I petition the internets that Cespedes be Superman, at least for now. Let's hope no one finds his kryptonite before the Mets clinch the division. #a Cespedes for the rest of us #you gotta believe

If things continue to go well for the Mets, maybe I'll just skip right over football and go from baseball to hockey, since the Giants' prospects are looking pretty grim.
