Harry Potter and the Cursed Child to open in 2016:
JK Rowling has announced her Harry Potter stage play will open in London's West End next year.
Called Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, it will tell the "untold part" of the boy wizard's story, including the story of the lives of his murdered parents.
However, the author said on Twitter the play was "not a prequel".
Okay, 1. how is it not a prequel? and 2. HOLY CRAP SHE IS GOING TO RUIN EVERYTHING. PLEASE STOP. THIS CAN ONLY END IN DISASTER. AND TEARS. SO MANY TEARS. HAVE WE LEARNED NOTHING FROM GEORGE LUCAS? Have we fought and died in vain?
I mean, of course I want more detail about the first war with Voldemort. in 70s era dress (AND SOUNDTRACK), no less. But ugh, this could go so, so wrong. Hopefully it will focus more on the war and the Order, and Lily's relationship with Petunia, and also James and Lily will also be already married, so we don't have to sit through a badly done romance. (I AM NOT THINKING ABOUT SIRIUS AND REMUS. I AM NOT. ...I TOTALLY AM. SHUT UP. OTP OF OTPS.)
