this team needs more heart

Apparently I was done sleeping today at 6:30 am (I went to bed at midnight), so I spent a couple of hours whittling down the number of emails in my inbox from ~125 to 40, of which probably 30 need to still be answered (though that doesn't take into account threads like AO3 comments, which may be 10 or 15 comments needing answers collapsed into one). Still, I feel much better when the number is under 50. Once it hits 100 I start getting twitchy. For a while I was able to keep it hovering at about 12, most of which were notifications for bills that needed paying not not things that needed answers.

I also watched the first five episodes (well, the kickoff movie and four episodes?) of Star Wars Rebels, the new cartoon on Disney XD that takes place about 5 years before the original trilogy. I'm not a huge fan of the animation style, and the show has some rough spots (the main character, Ezra, is basically Aladdin in space, with Flynn Rider's hair, though the show does acknowledge that up front by having someone call him a street rat), but the two lady characters seem like they could be interesting, if there was ever any focus on them. Hera, the pilot, is my favorite so far.

The premise is basically Firefly except I'm guessing this crew will actually become rebels and not just fugitives. (Also, I am guessing Ezra and Kanan must end up dead, because otherwise, why is Kanan not in a position to recognize Leia's Force potential when he joins the Rebel Alliance? Or training Luke?)

Anyway, it's not appointment tv, but it was an okay way to spend a Sunday morning. One day, I will actually watch The Clone Wars, now that it's on Netflix. I understand it starts rough and gets better, so I'm guessing Rebels will improve too.

And then this afternoon, I peeled a bunch of lemons and set up a jug of limoncello and another one with an apple/cinnamon/honey combination based on this apple cinnamon recipe.

And then I tasted the ones I've had steeping for the past two weeks. I didn't even bother with a shot glass - I just used a teaspoon to get the smallest taste, and they all taste good! Though very strongly alcoholic, so I don't think they're really drinkable without dilution, but I'm pretty sure adding club soda or some other kind of mixer would be the point anyway. So Christmas presents are on track.

Now I'm settling into the dread of Sunday evening, but at least there's B99 and TGW to look forward to, and the Giants aren't embarrassing themselves against Seattle. Well, up until that play. Jesus, what the hell was that?
