I actually managed to sleep for more than four hours last night, which makes me feel so much more like a person, even though I didn't really have to interact with other people today.

I haven't read the other issues (I don't even know how many are out at this point), but I did read Edge of Spider-Verse 2, which is the SPIDER-GWEN issue and enjoyed it a lot, so I was pleased to see this news out of NY Comic Con today: Back By Popular Demand: Spider-Gwen gets ongoing series in February. ♥GWEN♥

Legend of Korra: Korra Alone
OH MY GOSH WHAT A GOOD EPISODE. ♥KORRA♥ Oh, honey. She's been my favorite for this whole series, but I'm so glad to see them giving her such a great arc in the final season. I love that she's having hallucinations, since it's a side-effect of mercury poisoning, but that it also might really be some sort of manifestation of herself that she's going to have to reintegrate, a la Ged in A Wizard of Earthsea. I also really loved the callbacks/parallels with "Zuko Alone" - the search for and reclamation of identity, the flashbacks - hell, Korra's black eye in that broken mirror resembled Zuko's scar, and she cuts off all her hair the way he did, too, before he went wandering alone in the Earth Kingdom. But instead of a spaghetti western, this episode was The Empire Strikes Back - Korra's led to the swamp by an adorable puppy spirit to find an aged mentor. I'm sure Toph will be as cranky as Yoda in her own way. ♥TOPH♥

I also love the letters (and drawings!) she gets from Mako, Bolin, and Asami, and that she still feels close enough to Asami to write back to her, but not the boys (I might ship it a little *cough*), even though all their accomplishments were just making her feel worse. And how much we finally get to see of Katara, and how great was the music where Korra finally makes it all the way to Naga across the room? I might have teared up a little bit. Ugh, this was so good. I hope the rest of this season continues in this fashion.

I think I might curl up with fic for the rest of the night. I'm behind on my reading. Sigh.
