ugh, I love that she's so involved in their plans and that she wants to be involved and learn to fight etc., and I just want her to get to have sweaty, half-clothed, bone-shaking, post-adventure sex with D'Artagnan every week. Is that so wrong?

No! No, it is not wrong! It is, in fact, incredibly right. Constance is the best. Have you seen episode 7? That's the one that convinced me the writers were doing something purposeful and not fumbling into it.
