i feel more patriotic already
So first thing I did when I got home - after taking off my work clothes and putting on pajamas - was watch the Captain America: Winter Soldier trailer.
Now that my fangirl shrieking has quieted to a dull roar, some thoughts:
OMG I LOVE HOW BFF STEVE AND NATASHA ARE. SNARKING ABOUT HIS (LACK OF A) SOCIAL LIFE. C'MON NAT, HE HAS TO SATISFY YOU AND BUCKY. HE DOESN'T HAVE TIME FOR KRISTIN FROM STATISTICS.
I love how everybody gets a badass falling backwards off something shooting two guns scene. SAM! CAW CAW MOTHERFUCKERS. NATASHA MAKES EVEN THAT TERRIBLE HAIR ALMOST WORK. <333 BLACK WIDOW GOTTA REGULATE.
BUCKY! EVERYTHING WITH BUCKY! THE KNIFE! CATCHING THE SHIELD! THE ROBOT ARM! I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH ALL THESE BUCKY FEELS. AND NEITHER DOES STEVE.
I honest to god will cry if they use "Who the hell is Bucky?" in this and I really hope they do.
The elevator scene! The way Steve kicks the shield up onto his arm. HIS LACK OF A PARACHUTE. STEVE ROGERS I ♥ YOU.
I love that this movie is totally going to be about SHIELD: SHADY MOTHERFUCKERS ARE US, considering the show keeps trying to pass them off as the unalloyed good guys. I also love that Steve apparently has to steal his old WWII uniform (or a facsimile thereof) from the Smithsonian at some point - he wears like three different unis in this movie. (The Commander Rogers uni is still the hottest.)
So Robert Redford's Alexander Pierce = Aleksander Lukin: Y/Y? I know Pierce is a comics character, but it seems like conservation of characters would make him the mostly likely choice. Unless they're going to drop Lukin altogether and just make Pierce a double-dealer.
