I opened my laptop this morning and kept getting an Internal Server Error 500 when I tried to load Dreamwidth, but downforeveryone kept telling me the site was up! Even though I couldn't get it to work in Firefox or Chrome, and there was nothing on the DW Twitter to indicate the site was actually down. So I closed the laptop and watched the season finale of Elementary instead.
ZOMG YOU GUYS HE NAMED A BEE AFTER WATSON. OTP: YOU NAMED A BEE AFTER ME. ♥♥♥♥♥
I mean, I don't necessarily ship them in a "they need to have sex" way, though I would not be averse to them having sex? Or just having Joan dom the hell out of him as a lifestyle choice? I ship them the way I ship Mal and Zoe, that IT DOESN'T MATTER if there are other people (like, I totally ship Zoe/Wash, and Zoe can function without Mal [and she can function without Wash WAAAAH], but Mal can in no way function without Zoe), HOLMES AND WATSON ARE A UNIT, A PACKAGE DEAL.
also, IRENE WAS MORIARTY! YES! I am so happy they did that. And it explains why they didn't cast an American actress as Irene, because they needed her to actually be English.
I also kind of liked the fakeout of having Arnold Vosloo in the credits, because of course I was like, "Is that Moriarty?" I don't know if it was intentional but showrunners MUST know about the theory of the most recognizable name in the credits being the bad guy. But as soon as the flowers showed up in Irene's room, I KNEW the only way they could have known was that she wasn't just a mole, she was Moriarty, especially since Moriarty was SO INSISTENT that Holmes not be touched. SHE WANTS TO OWN HIM. I thought that was really brilliantly done. And I especially loved that at the end when she's like "You're the only person in the world who surprises me," Holmes is like, "BUT ALSO WATSON." BECAUSE YES.
I loved how Joan was like, "I'm not afraid of you." And how Sherlock DIDN'T TAKE THE VICODIN because he knew she'd be disappointed, BUT THEN he used that to try to manipulate her - I don't know if the fight was real but then they came up with the plan, or if the fight was also a ruse, but I LOVED IT. (though I'm surprised Holmes had to go all the way to Bushwick to get drugs.)
So, there have to be White Collar crossovers now, right? I mean, as soon as Irene was revealed as a painter/restorer, and then someone with a felonious bent regarding preserving art - I feel like she and Neal might have quite a bit to talk about before Neal realized how dangerous she was. (Or maybe he never did, which also seems possible.)
How is Holmes so CHARMING in those scenes with Irene when he's courting her? I mean, after he was rebuffed, he really shouldn't have shown up, but at least he seems to have some working knowledge of what consent means and how important it is to obtain it, and he was just SO FUCKING CHARMING in those scenes I can't even...
Mostly, though, HOLMES NAMED HIS NEW BEES AFTER WATSON. ♥♥♥♥♥
Now I can go read all the posts I bookmarked yesterday morning and take Elementary out of my Tumblr Savior.
