'Cause you can't, you won't and you don't stop
A random number of things makes a post:
1. Thanks for the lovely comments on my post yesterday. I'm working on answering them, and I will definitely explore the suggested options for living without cable television. <3
b. I walked into the mailroom a little bit ago, and one of the guys in there listens to WKTU, which is the hip hop station, and they're doing an 80s old school lunch and they kicked it off with "Rapper's Delight," which truly IS a delight to hear on occasion, and it's been a long time since I'd heard it, so I was delighted.
iii. I have a thing I need to do for work and I've been putting it off for a couple of days because just thinking about it makes my stomach hurt, but I don't think I can put it off anymore. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. I hate this project so much and yet they won't let me give it back. I didn't ask for it, I didn't want it, and it's been nothing but angst and clusterfucks. Sigh.
D. They opened a BurgerFi in my neighborhood a couple weeks ago, so last night I stopped in and got a cheeseburger with garlic mayo and an order of onion rings, just to see how it stacks up to Shake Shack. The burger was good, though not as good as Shake Shack, I thought, but the onion rings were HEAVENLY. Highly recommend the onion rings. And it's a much shorter walk than Shake Shack, so my food was still hot when I got it home.
5. I also recently tried both the iced vanilla latte and the iced hazelnut macchiato at Starbucks. While I can sort of see the occasional appeal, neither really worked for me - both left a weird aftertaste that I found unpleasant, and I think that's from the syrup. I guess I just like my coffee to taste like coffee (with milk, if there's milk in it). I should have a coffee icon. I can't imagine how I've gone this long without one. (That is the thing that other platforms don't have - a wide variety of icons. And threaded commenting.)
VI. There's also a new crepes and wine place in my neighborhood, but I haven't been there yet. Maybe this weekend. I need to get all my tasting in before I go on a strict regimen of not ordering in/eating out.
7. Someday I will find someone to make all the Steve/Bucky vids to Empires songs that I keep texting
angelgazing about - "Hell's Heroes," "Hard Times," and "Homewrecked," plus "Surrenderer" as Bucky/Natasha. And of course, I remain a sad panda that nobody ever did that Inception vid to "Bang." It's almost enough to make me want to learn to vid, but all I would do is make terrible lord king bad vids and also I have terrible visual skills and bad luck with technology, so that is not ever going to happen, so I must continue to just throw my brilliant ideas out into the ether and hope someone somewhere is inspired enough to make them happen. *hands* My life is the hardest, guys. No, seriously.
