i never had fingers as light as yours

Yesterday was my 11 year lj anniversary, and though I don't really consider LJ my internet home anymore, that's still a really long time to be using a website.

So there was fic:

Déjà Vu All Over Again (@ AO3)
DCU/Teen Wolf; Dick Grayson, Derek Hale; pg; 2,070 words
This is all starting to look eerily familiar.

The Teen Wolf/Batfamily crossover nobody knew they wanted. *snerk* It's mostly amberlynne's fault, and the two of us snickering over the idea that Derek and Dick would become friendly and Dick would just be like, 'what is it about me that attracts emotionally stunted people who think grunting is an acceptable form of communication?' Anyway, it's a one-joke premise that probably could have been funnier, but it amused us.

I spent a lot of time trying to figure out who was who - if Derek is Batman, and Stiles is Dick, the sheriff is Jim Gordon (and I guess Melissa McCall is Leslie) and Lydia is Babs. But I had trouble with the others - is Jackson Jason? Isaac is probably Tim, right? And Allison is Helena? Or maybe Cass? Erica is Steph, and not just because she's blonde, and I think I decided Boyd was Superman. Because of course he is. I feel like this maybe makes Scott Damian, though and I'm not sure how I feel about that? (as a DCU aside, I'm really icked out by the spoilers about Damian. [note: the link goes to the NY Post] Just. No. on every level. #forever crying over robins)

Anyway, it also resulted in a resurgence of Tim/Kon feels so I have been comfort reading favorite Tim/Kon fic. *hands*

What I'm reading now:

Thicker Than Water, the fourth Felix Castor book. I'm about halfway through and enjoying it so far. I like that someone finally put him in the hospital. I don't mean I'm glad he got hurt, just that he seemed to take a lot of damage in previous books and keep going, and here he clearly couldn't do that. also, for a guy in his forties, he sure goes around on very little sleep and a lot of caffeine and alcohol, which might explain why he's a little slower than I'd like sometimes to put things together.

Also, a reread of Judith Tarr's Lord of the Two Lands, because sometimes I just need some uncomplicated Alexander/Hephaistion feels without Renault's overwrought prose.

What I just finished reading:

Dead Man's Boots, the third Felix Castor book. I really liked how all the disparate plots tied together. I mean, I expect it in these books, but while I figured out bits and pieces of this plot, I wasn't expecting certain things that were revealed, and I was surprised and horrified (in a good way, I mean) by some of them.

What I plan to read next:

As always, I don't know. As I said last week, it could be This Is How You Lose Her or any of a dozen other things I've got stashed on the kindle. I might need a break from Felix Castor, though, and save the last book for later.
