Teen Wolf

So that was kind of hilariously over the top, huh? I don't think it made a whole lot of sense but I don't really care that much, though I do have some complaints:

1. why even bother with kidnapping and beating Stiles? It was completely pointless.

2. Stiles, remove the duct tape first so they can tell you what is going on.

3. Sheriff Stilinski, I realize you are awesome and were trying to give your son a pep talk, but as far as you know, a kid died on that lacrosse field. I mean, sure, it was Jackson, so you probably don't care that much, but giving Stiles a speech about how he was a hero for scoring goals and winning the game, when another 16yo boy died (even if it is Jackson and even if he isn't actually dead) is utterly tone deaf. What the hell? It needed to be there so Stiles could go and kick ass with Lydia, but even so. There had to be a better way to get the point across.

3a. For the love of god, Stiles, tell your dad what is going on.

4. I didn't love that Erica and Boyd kept running instead of coming back to help.

5. I really hope they address Allison's slide to the dark side with more than just Scott forgiving her. It looks like she knows she needs to atone; I just hope the show realizes it, too.

On the other hand, things I did love:

1. SCOTT BEING SMART OMG. I guess he does occasionally use his brain for things other than controlling basic motor functions. \SCOTT/

1a. ♥SCOTT AND STILES♥ I might actually be shipping them now.

2. Isaac making his choice and sticking to it. I still think he's kind of a creeper, but he's growing on me.

3. MRS. McCALL BEING A BAMF. The boys making mom zip up the scary bodybag was hilarious and note-perfect.

3a. PETER STILL DIGS HER. I might enjoy him trying to court her while she and the sheriff hook up.

4. PETER. Can we keep him? He is hilarious. The computer! The animated gif! The snark!

5. Chris Argent, making the right choice. Cool beans.

6. I really like the way alliances shift on this show - everybody is sort of uneasy dealing with everyone else - that feels really true to me and it makes things interesting.

7. LYDIA SAVES JACKSON WITH THE POWER OF LOVE.

7a. I literally laughed out loud when Jackson did his revival thing as melodramatic music played and the lights kept us from seeing too much of his nekkidity. Oh, show, that is why you are enjoyable to me. So I guess Jackson's parents were werewolves? That's why his eyes were blue instead of gold?

7b. I hope Lydia's in the scooby gang now for real. Things will be so much easier with her brains on the case.

8. Carver and Kendra Dr. Deaton and Ms. Morell! I hope they take Stiles in hand next season and teach him how to be a werewolf consigliere.

I'm sure I've forgotten stuff, but despite the fact that it didn't make a whole lot of sense, I enjoyed it. Also, I am amused that Teen Wolf has its own post-game show. I was so glad none of the fan questions were embarrassing; I was totally braced for my humiliation squick to be activated, but it wasn't. They are all going to hang out at Hoechlin's new beach house. <3

Oh, way to make me dislike Susan and Dougie. Susan, that is what Georgia did to you! Dougie, that is what you hate about your father! I mean, it makes them more interesting, but ugh, I have such an infidelity squick.

Annie and Margaret, otoh, were awesome together. it was nice to see Ann get some fleshing out, and I loved that Margaret knew exactly what was going on with her.

Bud! Holy crap, I totally teared up when he told the story of hiding around the corner to listen to TJ play piano. Bud, you need to tell your son that shit when he is awake and sober!

TJ's smile when he saw Elaine sitting by his bed, and also his insistence that he wasn't actually trying to hurt himself broke my heart. (It helped that I was also thinking of Bucky looking at Steve in a similar situation.)

I thought Elaine's monologue about putting the country before their kids was a little heavy-handed, but it was nice to see the point acknowledged. Also, wow, she basically handed the election to Garcetti, huh?

So that was interesting.

Even though I don't really have a real desire to do so, I think I might have to watch s1 of Suits so I can write some Donna/Harvey fic, as there is precious little out there, and even less that actually works for me. Sigh. And maybe some Jessica/Harvey, too.

Otoh, the AV Club recaps of Firefly made me long for the dead space show of my heart, so I started a Firefly rewatch last night, which has left me with the desire for many Avengers crossovers, which I was discussing with
laurificus this morning: Natasha as an Operative. Tony & Kaylee talking about engines and their flirtation making Mal jealous (so it could end in Mal/Kaylee). Steve/Kaylee, because that is how I roll. Steve & Inara having tea. Laura suggested Bruce/Kaylee, which could also be sweet. Bucky as the Winter Soldier could have been one of River's teachers at the Academy. The possibilities are... well, there are a lot, is what I'm saying!

Speaking of crossovers, I still want Steve/Buffy, because he is a big blond powerhouse and she is a tiny blonde powerhouse and he would be baffled and delighted by her, and she would climb him like a tree. It would be like if Riley didn't go horribly, horribly wrong. I might have to write that.

(Of course, the CROSSOVER PAIRING OF MY HEART for Steve is still Diana of Themyscira. Because YES. but I am also waiting for someone to write Steve Rogers/Zinda Blake. Because of reasons.)
