i know i'm not a hopeless case
So I've spent most of today watching the first season of Teen Wolf, and I guess I can see why people love it? But it is kind of hilarious, though I'm not sure it's always supposed to be. I mean, I am entertained! But it is a show about very pretty people being remarkably stupid (and often shirtless) most of the time. Also, night falls precipitously, often going from full daylight to full dark in what appears to be minutes.
It kind of maps to BtVS character-wise in a way (the relationships don't necessarily work the same way) - if Xander were the werewolf instead of Oz (Scott), say, and Angel were even worse at communication and being a person (Derek), and Buffy were the daughter of slayers who may or may not be complete psychos (Allison), with Willow (Stiles) being the best thing about the show. (Though I really liked Kate Argent, despite her being, you know, evil. At least she was competent!) I still haven't decided yet if Jackson or Lydia is Cordelia (the other one would be Harmony, or, maybe Jackson is Cordy and Lydia is Anya? Or v.v.?) But Lydia and Stiles are generally the only two who aren't too stupid to live, though Allison rises to that level occasionally.
Also, I just want Stiles to tell his dad! I kind of wish the show were about Stiles and his dad solving supernatural crimes! Maybe with Scott's mom as their person on the inside of the hospital, who calls them when weird stuff comes through the ER. (I might ship Stiles dad/Scott's mom more than any of the canon or fanon relationships. They just need someone who understands dealing with their kids' weird shit all the time! I think I am officially old, in that I care more about the parents on a teen show than I do the teens.)
So I'm not necessarily feeling anything but amused at this point, but it's nice to know what everybody's talking about, since it seems to be the next new big thing.
I also made lemon sour cream ice cream, because of all the ice creams I've made, it's in the top five. Mmm...so tasty.
