Woo! It's Friday. Wednesday felt so much like Sunday that I was like, 'Wah, I can't believe tomorrow's Monday' but it wasn't! I like this holiday in the middle of the week business sometimes.

Here's another in a long string of "you should totally write/vid that" ideas:

Steve/Peggy to "All That Heaven Will Allow." It's a little on the nose (I ( Read more... )

comics: journey into mystery, books, this is captain america calling, recipes, comics: black widow: name of the rose, adventures in cooking, black widow appreciation life, you should totally write that

Supposedly Calibre is able to do magical things to DRM'd ebooks but I cannot for the fucking life of me figure out how to make it do a single thing I need it to do. Everyone is like OH IT IS SO EASY PEASY and I am like WHERE IS THE BIG RED BUTTON THAT SAYS "AWESOMEIFY".

sigh

I've only used Calibre to deal with turning fic into ebooks, and I found it not the most intuitive thing ever, so I'm not surprised it confounds you.

I got so spoiled by Handbrake which is literally just PRESS BUTTON FOR WIN. Calibre just made me grumpy.

I don't know what that is, but I found Calibre a little finicky.

Though I still can't wrap my head around Logan calling Bucky "James."

Even with the war as context? Because I thought that was on the nose, actually.

Admittedly, I haven't read a lot of pre-Brubaker Captain America, but I'm not recalling anyone else (the Invaders, etc.) calling Bucky "James" except Natasha, so it really seemed jarring to me to have Logan use it.

I've been getting links to pics in Scrapbook by doing a post photo in entry and then seeing the URL that shows up in the code that's provided. I'm really hating the new version of Scrapbook. Plus, when LiveJournal migrated my photos to the new Scrapbook it put them in all the wrong folders. I'm still trying to reorganize it to something that makes some sense.

Yeah, I don't find it a useful system at all now. Thanks for the tip!

I quite liked Name of the Rose, despite the lack of follow up. Partly because of the excellent writing, and partly because I really loved the art. Mmm, pretty.

Out of curiosity, have you had a chance to read the Greg Rucka Black Widow/Black Widow II stuff? I found it quite interesting, though again there's a lack of follow up (comics seem to do this a lot to me - take a chance on something awesome, then let it die...I'm looking at you, Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane...)

Yeah, the art and the writing in Name of the Rose were both topnotch.

I haven't read Rucka's Widow stuff yet, but as I am a huge fan of his, I will probably enjoy it. *g*
