the very things that make you live are killing you

So in my apparent quest to watch ALL the movies Chris Evans has been in (or most of them, anyway), I just watched Puncture. It's a good movie and he's very good in it. Except I think it's probably a lot easier to watch if you are not completely smitten with him. Or if you don't have a squick about watching someone screw up their personal life (in ( Read more... )

Yeah that's a tough movie to watch. I'm very familiar with where it was filmed, so that was kind of interesting for me.... But I doubt I'll ever watch it again either despite the fact that I think that was probably some of the best acting Chris Evans has ever done. Those were some scary statistics about how many health care workers got stabbed with contaminated needles each year!

He was really good, though I never believed he was from Texas. *g* But yeah. So hard to watch someone that smart and talented end up like that.

Is it weird that it is your 'public health' comment that makes me want to watch this? I'm a sucker for infrastructure stories. Yeah, that's probably weird. ;)

Well, from a public health perspective, it was pretty cool - in my job, we do some work around group purchasing, and also with the HIV+ population, so from that aspect it was interesting to me, but emotionally it was hard to watch because I find it really difficult to take watching someone throw themselves away on drugs.

Oof, heavy stuff! I don't think it sounds like my kind of thing, thanks for the warning.

It was a good issue movie and he was good in it, but hard to watch!

I have it but I haven't yet worked up any enthusiasm for it. Is it good?

It's one of my favorite films ever--I love hard SF films that don't try to buy my sympathy with kids or dogs or spouses. I've heard some people say they didn't buy the premise but it's based on theoretical physics and I had no trouble with it.
