ugh work. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't procrastinate like a champion, but I've given up even pretending that that's going to change. Sigh. Also, my boss wants me to clean off my desk. Sigh.

I posted a story yesterday:
One O'Clock Jump (on
AO3)
Young Avengers; Kate & Bucky (Kate/Eli); pg; 1,795 words
It was just like the dance lessons Kate's parents had insisted on when she was thirteen, except Bucky was a lot taller and better looking than Cody Pearson had been.
because clearly the world needed a story in which Bucky Barnes teaches Kate Bishop how to swing dance. I spent a good forty minutes on Saturday watching awful, awful video dance tutorials in the process of writing it. Also, the funniest part - I had the idea on Friday night and was sort of waffling about it, and then on Saturday morning when I walked into Starbucks, they were playing "One O'Clock Jump," and I was like, "clearly the universe wants me to write this story!" I feel like Sokka: "Thank you, the universe!"

Yesterday, I learned that the
new bag I bought will comfortably fit a dinner plate. I learned this because I had to carry the plate home after bringing cake in. All the change in the bottom of the bag rattled against the plate with every step I took. I was amused.

Day 21 / Day 22 / Day 23 Day 24 - Betaing - How many betas do you like to use to make sure there aren't any major flaws in your story? Do you have a Beta horror story or dream story?
I usually use at least one beta, but not always. Sometimes I just post. Usually, though, the longer and more complicated the story, the more people I want to look it over. I think the worst was that one spn_summergen pinch hit that time, where
laurificus did the beta over AIM and it was pretty brutal and the story was due that night and, yeah. That was kind of awful. Usually I like to have some time to recover when there are a lot of changes that need to be made, and there was no time to be thin-skinned on that one. *shudder* But it made the story better.
Day 25 - Music - Do you listen to music while you write? Do you make playlists to get into a certain "mood" to write your story? Do you need noise in general? Or do you need it completely quiet?
Yes? I have a writing playlist, and I sometimes make mini character or story playlists, but I often write with whatever is going on around me...going on. Rarely, when I can't focus, I might turn the music off, but while I find music inspirational and a good mood-setter, it's not integral to the process.
Day 26 - What is the oddest (or funnest) thing you've had to research for a story?
Man, I don't even remember. *points up* Swing dancing?
27 - Where is your favorite place to write, and do you write by hand or on the computer?
28 - Have you ever collaborated with anyone else, whether writing together, or having an artist work on a piece about your story?
29 - What is your current project or projects?
30 - Do you have a favorite story you've written? What makes it your favorite? And don't forget to give us a link!
