find a diamond at the bottom of the drain
My Thor dvd came yesterday, so I watched it, but man, is it me, or is that one murky, murky transfer on the dvd? I could barely see what was going on for a lot of stuff. I'm talking season 1 SPN levels of darkness in some scenes. Which, let's face it, since I'm the only person in fandom who couldn't care less about Loki or Asgard, and just wanted more Coulson and Darcy and Thor being ridiculous on earth, it wasn't that big a deal, but it did make Jeremy Renner's scenes more difficult to see, which is unfortunate. Also, I'd forgotten he says, "I'm starting to root for this guy" while Thor was taking out all the SHIELD personnel. So MORE HAWKEYE is also something I would want from this movie but sadly don't get.
I have a feeling that the Avengers movie I want and the Avengers movie I'm going to get don't really look a lot alike. *sadhair*
Then I watched Ringer, because SMG! Ioan! How could I not? But, oy, that was just not good. I'm not sure I care enough to tune in again to see how much was simply due to it being a pilot and how it will sort itself out going forward. I mean, I can enjoy a cracktastic soap opera as much as anybody, but I feel like there was too much, too soon, before I even cared about Bridget or her problems. And I realize it's a CW show, but man, it looks like it was all filmed on the cheap.
In other TV news, I'm trying to decide if I want to take Criminal Minds back. I stopped watched after JJ left, and I have no desire to watch any of last season at all, but now that JJ and Prentiss are returning, I'm tempted to check it out again.
My only other major thoughts about the fall tv season are Fringe-related. I haven't been keeping up much with spoilers, so I don't know what all is going to happen, but I can tell you what I want:
1. the focus to return to Olivia as the hero of the show and the savior of the universes. Please let Peter stay away for a few episodes, and let the show remember that Olivia is its center.
2. ASTRID-CENTRIC EPISODES. PLEASE LET ASTRID GET HER OWN STORYLINE.
3. MORE NINA SHARP.
4. Alt!Charlie! I mean, I'm glad Lincoln Lee is sticking around, but I really want more Charlie; I've missed him, and more importantly, Olivia's missed him.
5. Bring back Ella and Rachel.
I think that covers it.
