I posted a story yesterday!
Captain America's Art Crawl Adventure (at
AO3)
Captain America (movieverse)/The Middleman; Steve Rogers, Wendy Watson, the Middleman; g; 1,930 words
"I think the more pertinent question is, how do we stop a giant glue monster from rampaging through Art Crawl?"
I needed something to wash away the horrible aftertaste of Ultimate!Cap, and this was a good way to do it. I honestly thought it was going to be another case of something being only of interest to me and two or three other people, so I'm really thrilled by the response.
Which I guess leads into the monthly roundup posts.
August 2011 writing roundup:
Find a map and draw a straight line (at
AO3)
Captain America (movieverse); Steve/Bucky; pg; 1,320 words
Bucky knows him better than anyone, but Steve's pretty sure he doesn't know about this.
You've got to rock yourself a little harder (at
AO3)
Red Robin/Batgirl (v3); Tim/Steph/Tam; adult; 6,290 words
Things like this don't happen to Tim.
Visiting Hours (at
AO3)
DCU; Jason, Alfred; pg; 755 words
In which Jason has a visitor while he's in Arkham.

That's the most productive month I've had in ages, and I have a few wsip I'm excited about, though again I seem to only be able to work on one thing at a time, so who knows what will happen.

we will meet and wait and pray for the monsoon

One Mississippi - Tom McRae
Got no home, and I made no plans
And this city holds me in the palm of its hand
And it sings, "This is where you catch your breath."

Sweet Talk, Sweet Talk - New Pornographers
A mistake on the part of nature
You are a tall glass, a blast from the past
Yeah, things were simpler then
You ask exactly when

Miles Davis & the Cool - Gaslight Anthem
Now, honey, put on your red dress and your diamond soled shoes
Climb on down from that window, climb on out of your room
Because I've never had a good thing and I've always had the blues
I always heard that you always kind of wondered,
Miles, strike up the Cool
1.
Crash Years - New Pornographers
Light a candle's end
You are a light turned low
And like the rest of us
You got those old eternity blues
Eternity blues
