OMG INTERNETS NEVER LEAVE ME AGAIN.

*clings*

The cable guy is supposed to show up between 2 pm and 5 pm to replace my modem, and fleurdeleo is supposed to keep me updated with detailed reports. Oh god, I hope I have internet when I get home tonight.

I did some baking (I made the blueberry lemon bars on Friday and then again yesterday) and made some ice cream, and read a lot of Wonder Woman comics - the end of vol. 2 made me sad (where the Amazons go away and Diana is left ~forever alone~), and I think Bruce and Clark can shove it for shunning her after she saved their bacon by killing that guy. I think the lesson to be taken from that is that when you need something done, ask Diana, because Bruce and Clark will be too busy being judgemental assholes to get the job done.

I still think the two obvious problems with WW as an ongoing book are that they don't use her supporting cast often enough (it's great that Donna and Cassie are all, "Batman has Nightwing and Robin, and you have us!" except that it's a toss up in any given story whether Donna is even alive and also they are almost never around; also, as an aside, it's great that they use dead!Kon to haunt Cassie, but they kept spelling his name wrong. I was like, "Who is this Connor you speak of?") and that her rogues gallery is so limited, and better use could be made of it, despite those limits.

Also, apparently after all of that, I really want her to hook up with Steve Rogers. Come on, it would be hot and he would be a lot nicer to her than Bruce is, and more understanding of the fact that sometimes, you have to pull the trigger (so to speak), even though I totally ship Bruce/Diana. (I thought there was some weird dissonance where Bruce is giving her the credentials to be Diana Prince and he actually smiles at her, when the last time they'd been together that I saw, she was confessing to killing Max Lord and he was telling her to get out of his sight. Otoh, I know that he asked her to meet him at Nanda Parbat, per 52, but they never showed what happened there [sadly, I don't think it was the really hot makeup sex that should have happened, where Bruce groveled and she deigned to forgive him for being a judgemental asshole because it is his nature to be so and she loves him anyway].)

So there was that, and I also started reading Ultimate Spider-Man, and Peter Parker is still my actualfax favorite forever omg. (this goes back to the Amazing Spider-Man cartoon of the 80s and explains SO MUCH about my preferences, don't you think?) Though this incarnation makes me facepalm a lot. I have to remind myself that he's 15 and has no training, because he absolutely does not do anything strategically, or even with any kind of planning. It's all boots on the ground, wade in wise-cracking and figure things out later. The one thing I really do like is that HE TELLS MJ HE IS SPIDER-MAN and he does it pretty early, after the first broken date. I can't tell you how much more palatable that makes the story to me. Now he just needs to tell Aunt May. I've already cried a couple of times, and not just when Uncle Ben dies. I should probably get myself an icon.

In other news, we got 8" of rain yesterday. What the hell is that even? I'm just glad it wasn't winter, because that would have been a metric fuckton of snow. And I can't stop sneezing. Even though I took a zyrtec before I left for work. I wasn't going to, because I'm scheduled to donate blood this afternoon, but I seriously stood in the bathroom for five minutes, sneezing, with that awful tickle in my nose that has recurred sporadically over the course of the morning. I'm going to have to buy more tissues just to keep on top of it.

In more fun news, here is a link (via
fox1013) to some info about the upcoming new Muppets movie. You can thank me for brightening your day with that later.

But seriously, internets, never leave me again.

*hugs*
