and the rumor of rain in the late afternoon

Feb 02, 2011 14:56

Call me a wimp, but I slid down the front stoop this morning to take the garbage out, freezing rain pinging off the top of my head, and said, forget this, man, I'm staying home. Which I did, because 3/4" of ice is no joke. I'm not as young as I used to be, and as my dad likes to point out, I have a tendency to fall down even when there isn't 3/4" ( Read more... )

I was thinking that maybe Neal's dad's betrayal involved something more than money and setting other people up, neither of which seems to be something that Neal would be particularly upset by. Maybe he murdered people, and while I don't think that betrayal would upset Neal, he isn't a murderer.

Yeah, I think some kind of violence has to be involved, if he's telling the truth.

If you're a wimp then so am I. I haven't been outside since Monday night. Worked from home yesterday, and our offices were closed today. It FINALLY stopped snowing a couple hours ago, but man, I've never seen a storm like that! 60 mph wind, snow, thunder and lightning - all at the same time!

Well, we just had freezing rain and ice; I'd rather have the snow, tbh.

Everything you said! I'm not entirely sure about Eli and Becca -- that whole scene left me a little uncomfortable, like, I don't mind the show showing how people like Zack and Becca get used in campaign politics, but I don't really like Becca being the girl who plays along with it and is willing to lie about sleeping with Zack and having an abortion to hurt the opposition -- but other than that, such a fantastic episode. Will and Diane! Cary! Alicia! Kalinda! <3

I took the ending to mean that she left the door open for him, actually, instead of closing it. So I don't know. I hope you're right and she didn't take him back. Gah I hate Peter so much.

I was definitely uncomfortable with the whole Eli-Becca thing. LIke, on the one hand, I like seeing her get pwned; on the other, she's a high school girl and he's a professional political operative - it's kind of gross that he is taking her down.

I took the ending to mean that she left the door open for him, actually, instead of closing it.

Originally, I was like, "Is she blowing him off or inviting him in?" and then I changed my post because I would like to believe she's blowing him off, but it was ambiguous. Sigh.

I love Cary.

I got the sense with Neal and Mozzie's conversation that the dad Neal told Peter about might be an adoptive father? Even though Neal said he has the "bad blood" line... I don't know it had so many holes in it I wonder what the hell they were trying to say beyond maybe this is why Neal was drawn to Peter in the first place.

Cary is shockingly awesome!

Yeah, I don't know - the whole thing felt forced and messy, like, "ooh, a story about a father who'll go outside the lines for his son! We should tie that in with Neal's backstory somehow!" But they didn't do a very good job of it.

I didn't hear anything about betrayal, when did that happen?

they didn't say that, but to my mind, a dirty cop is one who inherently betrays other cops, so.

Me too, I just didn't hear Neal say he was dirty. I'll have to watch it again.
