the lovers, the dreamers, and me

Dec 02, 2010 10:16

* I've reached the "breathing makes me cough like a maniac" stage of this cold. I will probably remain at this stage until April. Sigh.

* I've discovered the secret to tumblr: post lots of pics of Starbuck/Katee Sackhoff. Who knew? (well, apparently
snacky knew.) Last night I loaded my queue with some Wendy Watson in The Obsolescent Cryogenic Meltdown, because screencaps of Wendy Watson in a leather catsuit should be shared!

* I do not like the new save-a-bookmark interface on Delicious. Why are they always changing things that work perfectly well for things that are fug and broken?

* Because I don't get paid overtime, but I have worked numerous extra hours over the past couple of weeks, my boss is sending me home early today (where for early, read 4 pm; I will take what I can get, though. Last night she cut me loose at 4:45 and I was home and napping by 6.)

* Monthly Writing Roundup - November 2010

Ananke
Under the Red Hood; Jason; AU; pg; 300 words
You've spent five years waiting, dreaming, aching for this moment, planning what you would say, what you would do.

Every Bridge We Build, We Burn
Under the Red Hood; Jason, Alfred, Dick; pg; 2,305 words
"I'm sure Alfred would be happy to see you." "That makes one of us."

Dark Alley Love Song
Under the Red Hood; Dick/Jason; adult; 1,615 words
Jason's not really good at saying thanks, but Dick's got a hell of a way of saying you're welcome.

A Softer World
Harry Potter; Remus/Sirius; pg; 394 words
Lie low at Lupin's era post-full-moon cuddling

Post Hoc, Ergo Propter Hoc
Under the Red Hood; Dick/Jason; pg; 1,820 words
In which Dick convinces Jason to give up killing people through the power of hugs. No, seriously.

I swear, this might be the the most shamelessly self-indulgent thing I have ever written, and I have written a genderswap AU sekrit incest baby story. It makes me laugh, though (Dick's terrible taste in music! Jason's skincare regimen! His shock and horror at being hugged! What the actual fuck!?) and it has stealth cuddling and a CHRISTMAS MIRACLE. The ending kind of came out of nowhere - it wasn't supposed to be that schmaltzy, but man, I needed something happy after how awful Monday was. Hopefully, the humor makes the sentimentality a little more palatable.

And this is the first month in four years that I didn't write a Supernatural story. I am still coming to grips with that, and trying to figure out if it will change in the near future.

* Fringe tonight! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

* On tap for this weekend: yuletide source review!
