the taste of defeat was never far from your mind

Holy shit, The Good Wife! How so good and so heartbreaking? This episode reminded me in some ways of The West Wing. I mean, it doesn't have the humor or the stylized dialogue, but the late night backroom dealings while a gala event goes on outside - yeah, that felt like WW to me.

Were the Will/date kisses not a little much for what was basically a work event?

I thought that both Joe Kent's wife and the sleazy lawyer (the partner on In Plain Sight) were less subtly written than most of the characters on this show, and I had some difficulty believing in them.

Aside from that, what a fantastic episode. I couldn't help hoping that Diane and the team would be able to spin Lara's retreat into something that they could use - earning points from the Kents, at the very least.

And I think Cary believed Lara enough to point her at Alicia, which equals a win for him because either Alicia gets bogged down in an undesirable case, or Alicia feels like she failed if Lara walks away.

Yeah, I thought that was out of place at a work event, but I also thought the performances on stage were ridiculously unprofessional, too.

I thought that both Joe Kent's wife and the sleazy lawyer (the partner on In Plain Sight) were less subtly written than most of the characters on this show, and I had some difficulty believing in them.

I think it would have been easier to swallow one or the other, but not both in the same episode.

And I think Cary believed Lara enough to point her at Alicia, which equals a win for him because either Alicia gets bogged down in an undesirable case, or Alicia feels like she failed if Lara walks away.

There is something very WW-ish about the Good Wife. It's the smart writing, it may not have the humor and high octane dialogue but it's intelligent. The lawyer dude is from that USA show with the US Marshall's, he's Marshall, I can't remember the show name though for the life of me.

Cary intrigues me despite myself, LOL.

Well, they made me care about Cary so now I'm like, "WTF? I knew you were weaselly, but I keep hoping for more!"

I did the exact same thing with my flu shot. Bad planning, definitely.

And then today, while it was still sore, my boss clapped me on the shoulder and was like, "I trust you!" I was like, *wince* "Thanks!"

Take an Advil or something equally anti-inflamatory with pain-relief. My flu shot lady always tells me to do that after she gives me a flu shot. It will make sleeping (and regular daily activity) far less painful.

Oh, well, I should have, but I didn't. Maybe tonight.

Oh jeez, I do not like Blake (Jason Street as you call him). He's just ugh. I find it interesting that the show had him find the dirt on the masseuse while Kalinda found evidence to help her. And that his style of finding information was casual destruction. Maybe he was framing it as a break-in but that's not cool because he could have done without. (Makes me think maybe the show doesn't like him either, but he's there for a dirty purpose. Maybe the show needs a skeezy, blond man every season?)

I wish they would stop stringing this alongInnorite!?! It's only been a couple of eps for us, but it's been almost 3 months for these guys. They are motherfucking adults, yo. Good for Peter for putting the cell back, thank you for treating your wife your equal. Actually, not thank you but damn straight for treating your wife as your equal. God knows she'd pawn your ass ( ... )

Yeah, so far, he has not endeared himself. Especially with his attempts to rattle Kalinda. Fool!

Cary, Cary, Cary. I don't know what to do with him. For a moment I thought maybe he'd done it as a sorry to Alicia for deposing her for the leak. But it's Cary, so who knows? But the I don't think so because he's pissed at her for beating him but he's glad to have a moral direction which is inadvertently because of her.

I know, right? I want to believe he did it because it was the right thing, but it's Cary, so even if that was part of it, he probably had, like, six other motivations!

Oh, Diane is right. She wanted it not to be and skirted around making it so but when push came to shove she was our Diane and pushed.
