there'll be the soaring voice for a silent plea

So I got home this evening and, as usual, tried to turn on the lamp in my living room. The one on the end table next to the couch, where I sit to use my laptop and watch tv and basically live. And the light did not turn on. (Yes, I know it was not a blown out light bulb. I checked.) This is the third lamp in the past few months this has happened ( Read more... )

i spent a not-insignificant time seriously disliking a lot of hair on cm. >.< and yeah, it was a very meta episode indeed, and i too was mostly ok until garcia started to cry. (and then i thought "that's not even garcia losing jj, that's kirsten saying goodbye to aj", and that just made it worse.)

i do not feel better about what the ptb did to aj either. i am in fact still pretty pissed.

Yeah, I don't know if it's the actors making the hair people's job harder, or if it's the hair people just not being good at their job, but ...yeah.

(and then i thought "that's not even garcia losing jj, that's kirsten saying goodbye to aj", and that just made it worse.)

EXACTLY.

*sniffle*

I wondered about the "big strong men" line too.

and how much do I HATE that we are losing both JJ and Prentiss? UNSPEAKABLE. >>anger<<

I KNOW! SO MUCH RAGE!

I imagine once Prentiss goes, I will be gone, too.

I thought the Criminal Minds episode was really well-done, especially considering how loaded so much of it was. If they'd pointed at the network and said, "You there, this is for you", it wouldn't have been anymore obvious. Makes you wonder if execs actually watch the shows after they decide it's too expensive or whatever to have three women in the cast. Big strong men around, indeed!

One of the reasons I've always liked the show is that it tried to be more balanced in terms of gender on the team. Every other cop show I watch has typically 3-5 men and one woman. Maybe two.

And seriously, they choose now to put JJ in a fantastic outfit that shows off her colouring and her figure much better than white blouses and ponytails. It's annoying - when they finally do it right, they let it go. *grrr*

Yeah, it was totally giving the finger to the execs.

Exactly! When I was recommending this show to people, one of the things I said was that for a procedural about serial killers, it does really well with female characters, and has three awesome ones in the main cast. And now...they're ditching two of them. SO WRONG!

Yeah, she looked great. Sigh.
