Tonight, I did not make cupcakes, but I did make pasta alla formiana, per Giada.
here are my local, LI-grown tomatoes:
I don't own an 8x8" glass baking dish, so I just bought a 9x11" foil lasagna pan:
I used San Marzano crushed tomatoes, and I'm not really sure why it needed to be blended. Well, the recipe says to use the food processor, which I still do not have, but I do have, finally, an immersion blender, so I used that. I'll probably skip that step next time. I'm not sure what it accomplished. Anyway, here is the macaroni being tossed with the sauce:
here it is in the pan:
covered with the top layer of tomato slices:
and just out of the oven:
It really did need the full hour the recipe calls for. Some of the macaroni closer to the top didn't cook fully, but underneath it was really nice - still firm but definitely cooked through. It was very tasty and tomato-y, though I think I might cut back on the oregano just a titch (and I LOVE oregano) and maybe add some grated Parmesan cheese next time. But otherwise, two thumbs up.

Yesterday, I went for a pedicure, and instead of my usual really light or really dark, I went for something in between - OPI The One to Watch. It's pretty, but it's a little too Easter egg pastel lavender for me, I think. Also, I had my eyebrows waxed, so I no longer look like two caterpillars are trying to reach each other across my browline.

Me: "I seriously doubt that." *is the twelvest*
Man, the show ships the OT3 as hard as we do. And Moz! SO MUCH LOVE. "Mi casa es suit casa." "I call it Tuesday, because I'm usually here on Wednesday." and then later, "The view from Thursday..."
El and Peter have a code for whether he's okay! And it's much easier to work into conversation for them I bet than Sam and Dean's "funky town."
Joe Morton! The double finger point! The prisoner's dilemma! Jones's acting!
I feel like the show has totally be firing on all cylinders this season and I am loving it! ♥
